endometrioma
Hi all, I have recently been diagnosed with an Endometrioma in my left ovary & endometriosis. This has been a hard diagnosis to hear, given the side effects. I am 25 years old, without children, but I plan to have them with my partner in about 5 years. I am in severe pain during my period & often

Sensitive- Questions about early loss/MC
Hello Unfortunately my HCG tests confirm that I'm having a MC (at 5.5 weeks) 😪 Last time I had a mc, I found out at my 7 week scan. The sac was empty and I was given misoprostol by EPU to move things along. This was the most horrendous experience of my life, I was in so much pain, having contractions

Q re Levo not "topping up" natural thyroid hormones and side effects of overmedication
I've been prescribed levo recently and am currently struggling to work out what does works for me and doesn't send me into a jittery, irritable mess. I can't remember blood test results exactly but something like 6.8 TSH and low T3. All my other bloods were fine. I've been on a super healthy diet and

I'm 9dpt. I'm cramping. Depressed. And losing all hope. I tested negative at 5, 7, and 8 days past transfer. Beta is In 2 days. I just wish I knew before the call. Sore breasts, weird cramping that comes and goes. I want to be hopeful but can a bfp be this painful? Doc text my progesterone was great

Liothyronine (LT3) prescribing in England: Are cost constraints inhibiting guideline implementation?
Whatever else, this demonstrates beyond any doubt that the cost of the liothyronine Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient is but a minor part of the price charged to the NHS. I'd argue that the simple fact that the NHS agrees these prices strongly suggests something VERY wrong with medicines procurement.

New research. Linking Amiodarone inhibiting levothyroxine just published.
I'm a little staggered this is new!! But it is.... And I've experienced a lot of problems with ndt tolerance level even 7 months since Amiodarone was stopped. Beginning to wonder whether Amiodarones had a permenant effect. In Vivo Evaluation of the Pharmacokinetic Interaction between Levothyroxine

Reactive hypoglycemia (suspected): low carb/ high protein diet.
Hello everyone. : I have suspected reactive hypoglycemia ( Hashis, MCAS, ME/ CFS, Fibromyalgia, amongst other diagnoses, as well as perimenopausal). Thyroid Meds: Armour NDT. The RH has not yet been confirmed by a medical professional, but due to the ongoing and worsening symptoms, and extreme carb

Advice on raising NDT
Following on from my post on 26/02/24, my symptoms got worse (increased number of anxiety attacks and unable to cope with pain in head/neck and upper back) and the GP didn't have any ideas, so I saw a thyroid specialist recommended by thyroid UK in April. The doctor had my blood tests done and these

Trying to interpret my results
Hi I was wondering if I could ask some advice regarding my latest results. I've just had bloods done so anticipating the usual conversation with my GP about my TSH being too low.... I've screen shot my results since 2015 basically as I've been tracking them as my TSH rarely changes, even with a reduction

How quickly does TSH increase when you stop taking NDT?
I buy some of my NDT without a script, I take 120mg per day. My GP prescribes me 90mg a day. So I get the rest elsewhere. My GP doesn’t understand that TSH is suppressed on NDT, and I’m not going to be successful in educating him. My TSH was 0.01 on 150mg, but I reduced to 120mg about 5 or 6 weeks ago

Trial of eConsult service
My GP practice has recently launched the eConsult service where it said I could get the results of tests etc, so I tried it. I asked for the results from a recent blood test, and gave the date and time. The one that was supposed to be just vitamins. I had one email back saying the request would be

Hashimoto's remission
Hello, is it possible to put your antibodies (TgAb and TPOAb) into remission (i.e zero) on Levothyroxine only, following a root cause approach to lifestyle? Has anyone achieved this, or is NDT required? TIA

Chewing Thyroid-S before swallowing?
Is it really necessary to chew NDT? I've done it most of my life but recently started swallowing it whole because of my teeth. I take my thyroid medicine at around 4 am and go back to sleep sometimes for several hours. I've had a lot of cavities and dry mouth for the last year and a half. I don't know

HRT, low white blood cell count & NDT
I have been having appointments with my GP to try and get an HRT prescription. She wanted a blood test doing first - I have been taking NDT for about 8 years (doing really well on it) and basically my GP didn't understand it, stopped calling me in for blood tests and I haven't been for years. What is the recommended medication to start on please?
I'm having a telephone consultation with my endocrinologist tonight & after a lot of reading (on this site as well) I'm considering asking for NDT? This will be my first time being medicated so would really appreciate any advice from you? You all have far more experience than I & have been invaluable

Need help with understanding my daily 2:30 pm episodes
Hey everyone, I've been having a difficult time lately. I started getting these episodes around 2:30 pm where I'd become blurred out, fatigued, breathless, puffy, shaky, dehydrated etc. This has been going for about 6 months daily, it's exhausting, I have no life after 2 pm. I take 2.5 Armour + 7.5

T3 (Cytomel): How would you fit it in these results? Or would you? And all the mistakes I have made on this journey
Latest results (overjoyed to be finally here) - TSH .74 (.32 to 4) T4 14 (9 to 19) T3 4.2 (2.6 to 5.8) I am on 262.5 mcg levothyroxine (Note: In 50s so 50×5 & 1/4 of a 50) I feel what I would deem pleasantly okay. Always have felt the best on NDT, but I needed so much I could no longer afford it. And

Charged for importing 1 bottle of NDT
Has this happened to anyone else? I've been charged nearly £50 by Royal Mail for one bottle of Erfa 1 grain! I got the email from R.M this morning This has never happened before (I've only ever purchased Erfa once previously some years ago from the same place, and was not charged) I've not been charged
