I have had the results of my recent endosendoscopy today. I went privately to see a gastroenterologist as the previous one I had done on NHS stated that I did not need a follow-up even though they found Atrophic Gastritis and Hyperplasia. I had something called The Sydney Protocol, this involved taking

Lipoid pneumonia
Earlier this year I had serious nose bleeds resulting in hospital admissions and cautery. Subsequently seen by ENT consultant who advised daily insertion of Vaseline into nostrils to prevent them drying out and possible further bleeds. Since then I found on the internet (various reputable sites)

Cutenous endometriosis
Hi there, I had my 4th endo surgery early this year and have developed cutaneous endometriosis by my belly button. It causes pain at tines and I thought it was a keloid, but my GP thinks it's cutaneous endometriosis. Has anyone experienced this and if anyone has any advice. X

Woot, 2 year update, covid pneumonia
Hey folks, Just a quick post. I'm hitting 5 mile runs now and am doing strength training on my legs to improve my endurance. I still have some issues with my neck, but its gradually improving, lets just hope I do not put it out for a third time! I'm now hitting more challanging climbs, and have walked

Gentamicin Nebulised
HiI have bronchiectasis and pseudomonas colonisation. I have been on Colomycin for 10 years but have now seeked a second opinion for my condition (maybe a bit late but I took Littlepom's advice). They are looking to change me to Gentamicin instead. At present I am on IV antibiotics for 14 days. Fifth

No more propafenone!!!! What???
I'm in the U.S., diagnosed PAF ~3 years ago. Have achieved excellent control with propafenone (Rythmol). My pharmacy informed me they cannot refill my prescription, as there is a supply side problem with propafenone. From what I have read, there is a dangerous shortage of propafenone in the U.S and

Good news story……..
Having been on fab cruise for two weeks came back on 12th October and the day after had a molar extraction; necessary due to decay but I would have rather have had my legs cut off than go to the dentist under any circumstances! That was a week ago and things seemed fine until last night when the site

Salt intake and heart health
I thought the study linked below might be of interest to some of us. It’s a review of salt intake and cardiovascular health. Very many years ago I read a similar major review in which the researchers drew much the same conclusions and I’ve often thought of this when I read government advice that we

Has anyone else got significant facial scarring from skin cancer surgery?
I have a large scar on the right side of my face and neck due to surgery I had for skin cancer three years ago. My skin didn’t heal well and I ended up with infection under the skin flap. The scar is raised and red. Does anyone else have facial scars from surgery? How do you learn to accept it?
