Broken peak flow monitor?
I monitor my peak flow daily. Recently I’ve been getting some (for me) unusually good results, which I’ve put down to being on a high- dose steroid inhaler for the past month or so. My personal best has been increasing, from 465 to 490 and then 520 in the last couple of days. I’ve also gone from needing

Anti-acrolein scavengers such as hydralazine - Another drug that lowers BP - could be used to treat PD
‘Key Factor’ In Development Of Parkinson’s Disease Identified: 1. Acrolein appears to destroy neurons 2. Hydralazine, a drug used to treat high blood, scavenges Acrolein 3. Salbutamol (also known as albuterol) could reduce the risk of Parkinson’s disease by half. It acts by a different mechanism

28 year old w/ emphysema
I got diagnosed with emphysema at 28. I have asthma and allergies. I've had issues breathing and used Albuterol but didn't have a clue what was feeling like a vice grips on my chest. Anyone have experienced with emphysema COPD under 30? My life expectancy can't be good getting it this young and not

Hi everyone Just looking for suggestions regarding my asthma as feel like I've hit a dead end - I'm a lifelong allergic asthmatic but has got gradually worse in the last 10 years. Currently taking Seretide 250 (tried Fostair and Symbricourt without success) then had Qvar added on as an extra steroid

Muscles burning and breathless
I was diagnosed with COPD about 20 years ago because I was having trouble taking the trash to the road, walking to the mailbox, or pretty much any physical activity. Other than having trouble breathing my muscles would burn and just feel exhausted. I have been prescribed numerous prescription inhalers

Ugh hayfever!
I never thought I would say I missed the cold weather until the pollen count jumped up to high today! I’ve been coping ok(ish) this week, a bit of trouble at night but bearable! And then last night was up most of the night needing salbutamol and today can’t move anywhere without the wheeze rearing it

So sick of being sick!
I have been struggling with allergies, asthma and bronchitis for years and I have been getting a lot of flair ups lately. I use an Albuterol nebulizer, singular and go on steroid packs and antibiotics. I have use inhailers like Pulmicort and Breo which helps with less flair ups but currently I am uninsured

Just diagnosed with moderate COPD
This is my first post and wanted to join a community where I could get information about COPD. I am 77 years old and was first told by the VA that I had emphysema. This was about 20 years ago. They put me on some meds and and then I was put on Respimat, Combivent Respimat and albuterol rescue inhaler

A query
I have a question. Sometimes, when I am faced with triggers (I.e today with the cold weather and snow) I find that I can’t breathe, but if I stop (whatever I’m doing) and concentrate I relax and can breathe better but this repeats itself every few seconds. Usually my reliever inhaler helps, but recently

Went to er last nite.
I had a racing heart and sob after doing duo nebs and could barely talk. The oxygen in the ambulance helped and calmed it down a lot. My chest xray and ct scan were fine. The er doctor just thought tachycardia and that it was tachycardia and albuterol that made it go out of control. However, i read

Sticky Mucus
Hello, I have had a viral infection of the lungs since November. I produce a consistent sticky mucus, which is very difficult to cough up and out. The doctor has checked my chest and oxygen levels and there is nothing serious in there. Any advice would help, by the way I have had asthma since a baby
