All this is so new to me
I've had very mild asthma for several years, only when I've had a cold. Generally salbutamol and a couple days beclomethasone sorts me out and it's months before I need to use either of them again. On Friday I had what I think was a massive full on asthma attack, brought on I think by a chest infection

Change in symptoms
After a few weeks of feeling more in control of my asthma and even managing some gentle exercise I'm now finding my asthma seems to be creeping up on me. I've gone from gradual dips that I can spot with PF monitoring and an increase in night time probs, to feeling fine one minute and really tight and

reliever inhalers and low blood pressure/fainting
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyonelse is in the same situation as me: Recently my asthma's been worse and I've needed my reliever inhalers more, however I also have vasovagal syncope (a tendancy to feel faint/ faint) and taking my reliever inhalers makes that worse so I feel like I'm on a bit of

I have painful arms and I am buising a lot more than I have ever done before. So I went to see the doctor on the 22nd July and he recommended that I had a blood test, so on the 29th July I had a full blood test to check my bloods were all ok. My bloods came back as normal. I have been having to use

Ventolin Evohaler
My current relief inhaler is a 200 actuation size evohaler but I seem to have used way more than 200 doses but it doesnt seem to be empty-does the fact that you are still getting a ""blast"" of propellant mean that you are also getting active ingredients or is it safer to assume that once you reach the

What are the steroid shape changes?
I am currently in week 6 of a hospital admission for an exacerbation which just isn't settling, despite continuous iv salbutamol etc etc. Throughout this time I've been receiving 100mg iv hydrocortisone four times a day, and every attempt to drop the dose has destabilised the asthma. Unsuprisingly,

repeated hospital admissions for young child, what next?
My 17 month old grandson was diagnosed after being in PICU for several days on a ventilator in early March. Prior to this he'd been in and out of hospital and prescribed salbutamol - they said his breathing difficulties were a result of contracting bronchiolitis in Sept 2010. He is now on Salbutamol,

Two questions please - anyone know the answer to the Beclazone question?
Hi My hubby has had a cough for a couple of months and his chest xray is clear. His doctor has prescribed a nasal spray and a Beclazone 100 inhaler. I note the indication for the Beclazone is asthma and it is a preventer. DAvid has not been prescribed a reliever. Is that usual? Secondly ( what a

Unwell on Symbicort
Hello all- hope someone has some experience here! My doctor changed me to Symbicort the other day, and being a reasonably well-informed student I persuaded her to let me try the SMART regimen. My dosage is 2 lots of 200/6 twice a day, plus 1 as required. I've been using in place of salbutamol since

Cost of inhalers
Hi I have just been to Tenerife on holiday and realised I had left my Salmeterol at home - and taken three salbutamol, as well as my tiotropium. Much to my relief,I found a pharmacy where I could buy a Salmeterol inhaler over the counter - at a cost of 35 euros! I knew our prescription system was good

Been prescribed Pred for the first time - dare I take it?
Hi guys... I need informational help (again)... appreciate that medical advice cannot be given but your experience will help me decide. History: Always had 'claggy lungs' but mid-November 2009 got a cold which turned into a cough. Couldn't shake off the cough and finally realised that it wasn't getting
