Well, that was a lot tougher than I imagined 🙈.. mind you I am 18.5 stone and 6ft 3inches and I haven’t run since schooldays. The impact of my size on my joints was considerable so I purchased sports knee, calf, achilles and front 🦶 bone straps.. and the second and third runs had less pain although

4 year old withholding -movicol advice needed
My four year old has been withholding for the last two years, although I’ve only realised (rather naively now) that it is a condition and not something she will just grow out of. Looking back, she has always suffered with constipation (prior to potty training she used to go on all fours to do a poo and

Propecia hairloss drug lowered my thyroid and cortisol hormones
I have become sick from taking the hairloss drug Propecia. If you know someone who is taking this drug please share my story. Propecia lowers DHT all over the body and not just on the scalp. DHT is the most important hormone to a man. It is found everywhere in a man’s body. After taking Propecia I suffered

Flare
PMR, FIBRO, GCA I went down from 2mg Rayos (Prednisone) to 1mg Rayos. Wow...burning pain in buttocks, painful stiff hips, mood swings, extreme fatigue. I went back up to 2mg Rayos. Everything has gotten better except for extreme fatigue. So frustrating...now I am back to chair yoga trying to improve

Does anyone know if there are any brain injury groups either in Weston-super-mare or nearby?
Hi, I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a brain injury group in Weston-super-mare or nearby. It's for my friend Andy who has a traumatic brain injury after collapsing into the road in April this year. After 6 months I have got some help through Curo and he has a carer to take him to the shops

world mental health day
World Mental Health Day Today I received my new medicine for my hidden illness. I decided I’ll be brave and do what the doctor ordered- take my medicine as prescribed. I’m sure you’re thinking that sounds simple and pretty straight forward. You may have followed those very instructions, for whatever

mesothelioma - anyone tried Opdivo or Yervoy?
Hello I am looking for some advice on mesothelioma, I know there is no hope, but maybe I can at least alleviate my dad's condition - he is short of breath, extremely weak and has chest and arm pain. I read about Opdivo/ Yervoy immune therapy (I believe nivolumab and ipilimumab are the exact drug names

Really emotional
My son just came in from work and said a boy has started from miles away and walks to work and home, taking two hours each way, been offered a lift but says no....I feel sick to my stomach with worry, I’m trying hard not to cry. I just think it’s so sad, my son is really shy and doesn’t mix and that’

More Laura & the DICE TRIAL
Well, turned out to be a hellish week. Lowering the Taxol did help the first two days, but now I realise how much the TAK228 is affecting me the rest of the week. I had awful unrelenting diarrhoea, and no matter how much Ondansetron and Loperamide I took, it was unstoppable. I nearly fainted before

Copper/zinc and the Thyroid
On a recent medichecks test it's transpired that my zinc levels are ABOVE range: 19.76umol/L (range 10.7 - 17.5) This is the first time I have ever had my Zinc levels checked so no way of knowing how long this has been the case but it's very odd since I do not supplement with zinc at all and from what

Neurology update
Good morning all. Yesterday I saw a very nice neurologist who gave me a full neurological exam (including sticking pins into me) . His conclusion was that a) I'm not a witch, and, b) I have no discernable neurological problems. He was somewhat surprised to hear that the rheum had diagnosed fibromyalgia

Thursday W9R3 Sunday 5K race with 1600 others
So pleased with myself. 9 weeks ago the closest I got to running was walking on a treadmill for 10 mins. At W5 of this plan I got an email saying there were still places in the River Ness 5K race which is part of the Baxters Loch Ness marathon weekend. I worked out this would be around graduation day

Stool withholding, laxido and accidents. How do I get the dose right?
My daughter is 3 in December . She's been potty training for 7 months and has been stool withholding most of the time or just pooing in her knickers. After months of trying behavioural interventions my daughter started long term laxatives last Sunday after an awful weekend of constipation and stool withholding

A traumatic event yesterday 💔🇺🇸
Tuesday there was a world war II exhibit at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, CT that my Grandpa attended. He took pictures with it and was so excited! Im sure many of you saw it in the news yesterday (next day) that about 13 people went up in the plane and it crashed. 7 people died, 6
