Everyone is different, and what works for one may not for another. I suffered with RLS for so long, I can’t even remember how long. However in the past 5 years it had become unbearable. I wouldn’t sleep for days on end. I was depressed, tired, and thoughts of suicide starting dancing around in my pea

Wheezing at night
If you are kept awake at night by wheezing, I've found that a dose of Benylin Mucus Max just before bedtime seems to settle the wheezing down for long enough to get to sleep. I don't take it for the rest of the day. It's non drowsy and doesn't seem to interact with any of my other meds - Flutiform, Salbutimol

RLS MEDICATION ADVICE + SHARE OTHERS EXPERIENCE
Had rls for 2 or 3 years now. Refuse to use prescription drugs after reading extreme side effects enclosed in the pack. A friend recently recommended taking A.Vogel horse chestnut drops. Some nights they work, others not. Bought Restiffic foot clamps which also work well sometimes, but not always. On

Is It Time for a Nursing Home?
Hi all Its been a long time since I have been here, I am sorry about that. I have just been in headless chicken mode. My most lovely Mother is in the advanced stages of CBD. She cannot move, communicates mainly with her eyes, has great difficulty swallowing, has skin pressure sores, double incontinence

Another running goal ticked off
Today, wearing my new and improved footwear, I ventured into my first Parkrun. Having not run for over a week, and never in my new trainers, I was feeling very nervous. However, there were lots of lovely, supportive people there that helped with the nerves! My major worry of 'Please don't let me be last

Update on Transplant
Hi all Just a quick update, hubby is now making progress, still in intensive care, but they have removed the ventilator. On kidney dialysis but hopefully that will come good too. I know we have a long road ahead of us but I honestly was scared we might not even get the chance to go on it!!! The staff

Sudden daily wetting during school
My 7 year old son has had problems with chronic constipation since the age of 2. He has been on movicol throughout that time and more recently supplemented with sodium picosulphate. He sits on the loo after breakfast and after dinner and at present is free of soiling accidents and does a poo most days

Feeling so rubbish
Hi posted last week about this horrid anxiety working it’s way back into my life. One of my many problems when it comes to this is accepting what Im feelng is anxiety and not something much more serious. I truly don’t know how I have got out of bed the last week or so and functioned. My head is so sore

Upset stomach daily and noisy bowels
Hi, new here. Was wondering if anyone had any advice, as I’m not sure if it’s IBS that I definitely suffer from. Since February, I have had diarrhoea almost daily, almost constant bowel noises (growling, popping) and occasional abdominal pain. I have found that it’s worsened by the likes of chocolate

Has anybody experimented with the carnivore diet?
Obviously exploring for solutions, I’ve ordered my ultra thyroid test of medicheck so hopefully that’ll shine some light on things but that aside! Has anyone got any experience with this since I’ve seen so much about people with autoimmune saying they feel so much better on it. I myself have done keto

Abingdon Parkrun #5 - and headphone capers!
Last week, I got a new PB - about a minute and a half faster than the previous, which was from a single parkrun I had done 2 years ago before injury intervened! So last week I was anxious to make the PB in this era of running, and the previous week was only 15 seconds outside it. So I felt quite keyed

Fragrance sensitivity: why perfumed products can cause profound health problems.
An intolerance to manufactured scents can lead to migraines, respiratory issues and long-term sick leave. So should they be banned in public spaces? If you flew abroad this summer, you probably passed through an airport’s duty-free perfume section. Perhaps you paused to spritz yourself with an expensive
