Hi everyone. Ive not posted on here for a while as i had my endo under control. However, we are starting ivf next month so ive had to cut out some suppliments. Im having some really bad flare ups lately and regularly too. Cant take ibuprofen as it affects ovulation and can stop you getting pregnant, wish id known that before!. As most of you will agree paracetamol and co deine are a waste of time. Im using my heat pad but cant do that during the day because of work etc.

So ive literally got no pain releif! I used to use turmeric but that can hinder ovulation aswel. Ive been having acupuncture for a month which has helped a little but you cant have it when on your period which is obviously when its worse. So ive had a couple of days of not being too bad and now my hormones are changing for ovulation so here we go again.

Currently sat with my heat pad. Ive read a lot on bee pollen, propollis and royal jelly for endo and for fertillity. Has anyone tried it? Ive just ordered some 🤔

Just realised ive not taken flaxseed for a month ir so, i wonder if its because ive not had it? Have just taken a big dose, i will update if it makes a difference xx

Hi purplewitch.

I’m sorry to hear you are suffering it’s not easy managing endo when TTC is it.

I took bee propolis as well as following anti inflammatory diet & evening primrose oil till ovulation to help my uterus lining, I took low dose aspirin to suppress my endo after my third surgery (second cycle.) I also used progesterone cream from day 8-26.It did ease my symptoms of endo & I did conceive my daughter naturally second month after lap.

I can’t comment on royal jolly as I didn’t take it.

I’m sure the bee propolis definitely helped. I can’t say which was the greatest factor as there many.

It is also okay when TTC to take Tranexamic acid to ease period flow & Mefenamic acid to help period pain.

Good luck with it hope it helps you to have your wanted baby xxx

Thankyou Jess for replying. No its not easy 😓. I had my daughter after coming off the pill so i didnt have to go through all this. Its been 2.5 years of trying this time, and obviously not been able to take anything really because of it. I had my lap done in november but my endo is back worse than before. Ive stopped evening primrose oil as my consultant said to not take it when trying, ive swapped to omega 3 and flaxseed oil, but ive never taken tranexamic or mefenamic acid, do you get those off your dr? I will look into it, and congratulations on your little girl xx

Thank you.

Congrats on your little girl that’s lovely. I had my son with no issue ( unplanned with an ex partner) & then struggled for 7 years ( due to a delayed diagnosis of endometriosis) had 3 laps & an early loss before conceiving our daughter. It was the toughest thing ive ever faced but looking at my daughter it was worth all the heartache.

It doesn’t make infertility any easier just because you have a child.

Yes I got tranexamic & mefenamic acid off my GP who knew we were TTC.

Are you under an endo specialist? Could you have another lap?

I had issues with my endo it grew back so quickly 😱 its horrible xxx

No it doesnt make it any easier no matter how many children you have. No, im not under anyone now, id have to be referred again and ive not got time for that, and i dont want another lap done. Thats why we are going for ivf now, there is an endo specislist at the clinic and im booked to see him tuesday so im going to ask all my qusetions before going any further. I hooe he is good, its one of the reasons i chose this clinic x

Hi.

Not heard that you can't have needles during period before. Why is that? My acupuncturist tends to see me on day one or two to help me get around the worst of the pain. If I know when the period is can also go a few days before. He uses needles for a combo called the 4 gates if I recall correctly? But I might get it wrong, as can't check right now.

I use cramp bark tea to get some relief for the muscle spasms. And I have an anti-inflammatory tea (incl. chamomile, oat grass, nettle, peppermint and passion flower as also have anxiety - my herbalist tailors her teas to the person). Otherwise...I have tweaked my diet which helps, but everyone is so different for what works there and that is no quick fix.

I am also on route for IVF and currently at the suprecur inhaler stage. Let us know how you get on, I hope they can answer all your questions. It is such a whirlwind, isn't it?

All the very best.

Thankyou so much for your reply. My acupuncturist said she didnt like to do it when actually menstrating. I told her today how much pain i was in last week and she is timing it now so that i have a session the day before, and she will also give me some herbs for the pain, didnt say which ones though.

Ive also booked an appointment for tomorrow with an endo specialist, dr oliver o donavan, as ive never actually gotten to see an actual specialist before, just gynae. I have a load of questions about ivf and endo, and what to do after the whole thing to treat it. Im a person who always will try the natural approach first. We just came back from our patient info evening for ivf, and ive got to say at this point im terrefied of what all the drugs will do, what if it makes it worse? Ill feel better when ive had my appointment tomorrow x

So glad to hear you had a good chat. :) Hope it helps and makes a real difference for you going forward.

Will you do the long route for IVF? I was on the pill the last 5 weeks and now am on Suprecur (which they do use for endo treatment apart from for IVF actually according to its notes).

It does mess your body balance up as any meds do, but there we are, but they take your endo into account on this path.

I also prefer natural, but sometimes with endo that isn't enough so a combo approach sounds good.

Hope the specialist is helpful and you get all your answers. :)

In my case: My endo is quite aggressive and I have cysts which might refill, so I am nervous too, but this is my chance so giving it a go and generally the meds shouldn't mess with it from my research.

For me, I know I will lose both ovaries to endo long term so IVF is my last attempt considering where my body is at, but everyone is different. Think it through and see if IVF is the best fit for you and what you want to do. You have time.

Hi Koryu,

Im sorry to hear your endo is affecting your ovaries, it really is one of the most awful illnesses to live with. I really hope the ivf works for you 🤞🏼.

I just saw the endo/ivf specialist. He was very good. He asked a lot of questions and listened to all my concerns. He said my endo sounds like its superficial not deep seated, which is why it will always grow back in under a year, so no point in any further surgery for it. He said i should feel pretty good on the down reg, as far as the endo is concerned, but it may flare up with the stims. Said i can take codeine if i need to throughout, but only when i really need it. He also said i should take patacetamol every single day. He said it builds up in your body and is good for chronic pain, which i never knew. He said if you take it just when you have the pain it doesnt work as theres not enough of it in your system.

Also said i have quite low amh which im not surprised about but didnt give me the actual level. Just said i was likely to produce less eggs on the stims, but the main thing is them getting the meds right to stimulate me enough. If they dont the cycle may not be successful but the second better as they would already know how my body responded from the first one. I guess i just got to give it a whirl! Xx

My AMH is also low. Bloody endo, eh?

Sounds like excellent advice and so glad he really listened. That is worth its weight in gold.

Let's give this a shot and see what happens. ^^ The paracetamol advice I hadn't heard of before either. That is good to know as going for my first scan tomorrow and might start injections. Thank you for sharing. ^_^

Feel free to check in and catch up along the crazy IVF journey. I will be cheering for you.
