Does anyone know if there are any brain injury groups either in Weston-super-mare or nearby?

Hi, I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of a brain injury group in Weston-super-mare or nearby. It's for my friend Andy who has a traumatic brain injury after collapsing into the road in April this year. After 6 months I have got some help through Curo and he has a carer to take him to the shops and a flat check for 2 lots of 1 and a quarter hours each month. He still struggles with keeping his flat clean and day to day stuff and I would like to try and see if there's a group with people who have had a similar injury so he can speak to them. I don't really think he's accepted the way's he's changed as he keep saying he wishes he could be back how he was before. Thank you.

Your nearest Headway is probably in Henton near Wells. I am guess that does not count as nearby.

Hi, thanks for your reply. There is a Headway day centre in Frenchay Bristol, but my friend wouldn't be able to get there on his own and a taxi there would cost a lot. I'll keep an eye out on any other replies. Seems such a shame there's nowhere easy to get too without a lot of expense for him or with some difficulty with travel as his independence has taken a knock through his injury.

There is an ME group in WSM. Symptoms can be similar as is the acceptance.
