Cold Water Swimming!
Hi. I’ve recently taken up cold water swimming or wild water swimming as some call it. Recently it's been given quite a lot of "air time" on the TV and Radio so I thought I’d give it a go. Without going into obvious pros and cons. When I read about it on the internet there appears to be a universal

Why am I going cold?
I'm normally a very warm person. My treadmill is out in an unheated conservatory. When I run on the treadmill, I always have a separate fan blowing full blast as I get so hot. Just lately, about 1 hour after any of my runs/exercise (treadmill or outdoors) I get extremely cold? Is there a reason

Feeling the cold
Feeling cold is a pretty reliable sign for me that my dose needs raising. GP just dropped me from 100 to 75mcg level because TSH is suppressed. My question is: is the sensation of cold a subjective thing i.e. I FEEL cold, or is it an actual temperature drop? I just took my temp and is was 35.8°C.

Furosemide side effects
I am suffering severe hearing loss and inflammation of big toe joints. I understand these are known side effects of the diuretic Furosemide. It was prescribed by GP because I have slight heart failure and various heart valve problems and in danger of water collecting round organs, although I have no

Pneumonia or Thyroid?
Hi All, Firstly, thank you to everyone who contributes to this forum, which is a god send to those of us with GP’s who aren’t informed about thyroid disease, to say the least. I’m sorry if this post is a little long but I’m putting down everything I think might be relevant – essentially I’ve had very

IVIG: Wondering if it's right for me? Your experience?
Had anyone with CLL and on ibrutinib had IVIG treatment? I'm thinking about it -- but would like more information; eg side effects, duration of benefits, etc. (Iwas inthe ICU rhis summer with viral pneumonia after a trip to Israel).

Sinusitis
I have persistent Sinusitis over 6 months plus and have now tried 3 different strength antibiotics with the last being co-amoxiclav. None have helped and I’m unsure the ENT specialist correlates the diagnosis with CLL. If anyone has any thoughts or experience of the same ? I tested positive for

Cough. Ongoing.
My “asthma cough” has been present for about 4 months now. Often during the day it’s hardly there, but at night/early morning i have a coughing fit, which means getting up, having a hot drink, and sitting up. I’ve decided I prefer coughing to feeling the breathlessness which freaks me out. With my cough

Flu Jab
Hi all, I am on 100 mcg Levothyroxine. I have never a flu jab before but does anyone know if there is any reason why I should not one? Many thanks.

Asthma or bronchiectasis???
Hello all, I've had mild asthma all my life but the last few years it has become difficult to control with the regular inhalers. Bronchitis- prednison events 3 times a year. Last winter I was put on nebuliser (corticosteroids plus extra saline) treatment, and that really helps. After much delay earlier

More bad news
I just wish I could banish the fear of dying once and for all as it would probably cure my overall anxiety as well. I have been in hell since March being 56, morbidly obese for years with the fear of catching Coronavirus, and having found out four weeks ago I have heart failure and afib, I am utterly

Help and advice needed for son
My son is nearly 11 and I’m writing to see if anyone might have had similar issues to him and for advice. Both my husband and I are really concerned about him. My son was hospitalised twice aged 5 with classic asthma symptoms (wheezing, unable to breathe) and has taken a preventer inhaler since. Now,
