It's been a long time since I contributed to the site, but have read plenty. I have ran out of my NDT (thyroid S) and still waiting for delivery, I placed the order in June last year. I have another bottle but I seem to remember there was a batch which wasn't quite right, and I know the bottle I have got was in this batch. However, I must give it a try as I don't want to go back to levothyroxine, so far so good, but I know it may take a couple a couple of weeks to show anything untoward. I have emailed my supplier a few times but have not received any replies from him, I suppose I'm one of hundreds.
On another matter, I have received a letter from the NHS inviting me to have the flu jab and I am quite torn on what to do. I and my 2 sisters have never had flu or colds, although I do get a couple of cold sores during the winter. I am conflicted on what to do and I realise this invite is due to everything going on with covid 19. My sisters have had the jab and they say they are fine, but every time my mom had the jab it would knock her about for a few days. Anyone got any advice?
Thank you

Thank you for your reply, I'll certainly think about it this week-end, I think I still have time as I am about 7th in the pecking order for the covid jab.
It has to be your decision. Some people have the flu jab and are fine, some people have the flu jab and don't feel well for a few days, some still get flu. The jab only covers 3-4 strains and because of mutations these strains are guessed at and not guaranteed to cover the current year's strain.
I've never had flu in my life.
I had the flu jab the year I was diagnosed with lung disease, also had the pneumonia jab.
I haven't had the flu jab since - my personal decision. I do a lot to keep my immune system healthy instead and I've not had so much as a cold in about 20 years.
I will have the Covid jab.
Maybe do a search on the forum and read the plethora of posts about this subject and then make up your own mind. Here's some posts to start you off:
\Hi health2015 I'd like to know the batch number, too. I have a new bottle hiding in my wardrobe; sod's law it may be the batch you're speaking of so I'd appreciate a response. Thanks in advance.
I think it was 2018/2019 and the number on my supply is TA18046 which was between the first and last numbers in that particular batch. I'm I can't remember who posted it, but it was on health unlocked.
I’ve had the flu jab and the first Covid jab, nothing to report with the flu jab except a bit of a tender arm where the needle went in, Covid jab very similar although the following evening I did come over quite tired and a bit achy in the evening, went to bed a little bit earlier and when I woke up I felt fine. I’ve had the flu jab every year for the last 6 due to working in a hospital and getting constantly ill the first year I started and have honestly never had worse than a tender arm, there are some people who do say they get ill after and that may be due to the vaccine but that could also be that they were already getting ill and it was just a coincidence 🤷♀️. It’s definitely personal choice and like seasidesuzie says you can still get the flu if you have it, just like you can still get Covid even though you might have the Covid vaccine as the vaccine isn’t 💯 however it does reduce your chances. I think you need to weigh up how healthy you are personally and how you feel you’d be affected by the virus against the possible side effects of the vaccine. X
I have had the flu jab every year for about 15 years, I had pneumonia jab at the sam3 time as my first flu jab. I was taking Thyroid S at the same time as my last one. I had gastric flu around 1976/77 and was desperately unwell. After that I found I seemed to have a cold from October to April every year and had several chest infections requiring antibiotics. For the last ten years absoloutely nothing other than a slight cold. I really recommend having it.
