Hi again, just following up with my previous post. They have been trying to lower my dads sedation from the ventilator, but every time they do, his heart rate goes up and they’re not sure why. He does suffer from high blood pressure and they say his heart rate does go up and down. Any have or know of an experience like this?

There was a moment during my recovery that what ever the staff did , sent all of my rates plummeting or rocketing. It got to the point where none of them wanted the job of turning me or anything. Certainly the weaning process took many vain attempts, I would also require more help breathing, then it would lessen, then more help again. In my case I picked up numerous infection because I was so immunosuppressed - whilst really worrying for you - from other posts and my own experience- what you are describing doesn’t sound out of the ordinary 😊

I heard some doctors are using anti anxiety drugs while they lower sedation and it's working?
