A family member is booked in for an NHS blood test. Would having a slight cold impact results? If this appt is cancelled another one will not be available for 3 weeks.

Presumably a thyroid test?

If so it's advised to delay test when one has an acute infection (as a cold would be) as this can affect results. The appointment in 3 weeks' time would appear to be more suitable as hopefully they will then be fully over the infection. If not, it would be sensible to delay further.

Just wanted to inform that even a slight cold might influence ferritin levels (iron storage) too. Just in case your family member is having this tested.

I hope your family member will feel better soon!

Indeed, infection can raise ferritin level Wired123
