Morning Peeps 😊 So...first week back at school/work after over a year of shielding, and I have a pesky cold! 🤧😏 I am due to have my first Rituximab infusion this Monday - in 3 days time, this being day 1. Should I have my infusion?

Help! Asthma getting out of control?!?!
Hi everyone! I have eosinophilic asthma and was discharged by my consultant last year and to go back to him if things get out of control again. Here’s my dilemma...’out of control’ to my consultant means a low peak flow and the need to use steroids. But I have been coughing for the last two months...

ICU cough
Since my trachy was taken out in February 2000 I’ve had an ICU cough over time it got worse; because of the cancer risk I was sent for X-rays and fairly quickly followed by a CAT scan in November. It wasn’t cancer😀 but pulmonary fibrosis but they weren’t too sure whether it was caused by my methotrexate

How good is your sense of smell? For older adults, having a poor sense of smell may indicate a higher risk of pneumonia.
An acute loss of smell is one of the most common symptoms of COVID-19, but for two decades it has been linked to other maladies among them Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Now, a poor sense of smell may signify a higher risk of pneumonia in older adults, says a team of Michigan State University researchers

Cystinosis and Fanconi syndrome
Hi, I asked this question a while ago but I thought I would try again since it’s been a while to see if there was anyone else in this community who has these illnesses. Cystinosis and Fanconi syndrome I was diagnosed when I was around 2 years old,. basically the cystine cells attack the vital organs

One third of patients hospitalised with severe COVID-19 still have lung changes after a year.
A new study has shown that most patients discharged from hospital after experiencing severe COVID-19 infection appear to return to full health, although up to a third do still have evidence of effects upon the lungs one year on. COVID-19 has infected millions of people worldwide. People are most commonly

Neandertal gene variants both increase and decrease the risk for severe COVID-19.
A major genetic risk factor is located on chromosome 3 and dramatically increases the risk of
respiratory
failure
and even death.
