has this happened to anyone else. Last August out of the blue I was admitted through A&E with an acute asthma attack, I'm 57 years of age and have not really been bothered by asthma for 25 years and even when I was younger was never hospitalised. My husband hasCKD. I’m so scared
Hello everyone! I’m really scared for my husbands life. He is 45 years old and his primary has just diagnosed him with CKD. He has GFR of 70. Doctor really scared us by telling us that at his age he would properly require Dialysis and a kidney transplant. We have an appointment to see a specialist

left ventricular systolic dysfunction
Following my recent heart echo this diagnosis has appeared on my NHS GP record - "left ventricular systolic dysfunction". I had the echo because I get breathless these days just walking across the road to the shops, but when I went to see the GP to discuss my results there was no mention of "left ventricular

Cold feet
If, like me you suffer from cold feet I can highly recommend an electric foot warmer However, should you share your home with furry family do not “nip to the loo” 🙄. Having said that when I turfed my Belle out she sat on my lap and had a lovely warm bottom 😃

I've had steroids, 5 lots of antibiotics and I'm now on blue and brown inhalers. nothing is making me better and it's seriously affecting

Low triiodothyronine levels correlate with high B-type natriuretic peptide levels in patients with heart failure
An association between low T3 and cardiac disorders. They appear to very responsibly avoid unwarranted conclusions - which came first? - but at least the question is being asked. [i] • Open Access • Published: 08 November 2021

COPD cough
A very Happy New Year to All - here’s to 2022 bringing us good health. This may seem like a silly question, but is a permanent cough part and parcel of COPD please? My Mum has had a barking cough for over two months now, and after a number of courses of steroids and antibiotics it still has not cleared

Upping predisolone with pneumonia
I came back from abroad on the 30th of Dec feeling really ill. Went to drop in centre and have pneumonia. Given a 3 day course of antibiotics and told to up predisolone to 40mg for four days and then go back to normal dose-7mg. I wasn’t happy about this and my dr said no need. The antibiotics finish

A new life...
I stopped smoking after 60 years. When I started smoking in 1950s it was regarded as a design thing. (Even my Doctor smoked in the surgery whilst seeing and treating patients.) I contracted pneumonia in 2013, it was then that I discovered from my GP that smoking would shorten my life if I carried on.

Cough syrup for Parkinson’s patients
Can someone tell me what cough syrup Parkinson’s patients can take? Every Robitussin syrup warned against use by people with Parkinson’s…. I was just at the store and couldn’t find anything my husband could take….🤷♀️

Season Flu!
Hi All. Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I was just wondering if anyone has had flu / cold symptoms for 3/4 weeks. I’ve had many covid tests it isn’t that but my nose has been very runny for almost a month and had a little cough. It’s also coinciding with a lot of acid reflux. Anyone have any idea

Hi all, I'm happy to have found this site. I'm 63, female, in the USA, I recently was diagnosed and hospitalized with Covid pneumonia (last of November 2021). I still get winded easily, I never did before this illness. My weight is within the normal range for my height (5'4", 130 lbs.) I have no history

When is a cold just a cold?
Hi I have RA and am on weekly BENEPALI injections. Had a multi generational meet up with various family over Christmas. I am vaccinated. Had what I thought was a booster in early November but have since had a letter indicating that was a 3rd injection and I should have a 4th in 6 months time. Anyway
