It seems I have cryptogenic organising pneumonia, and have just stared prednisolone, but having trouble clearing mucus. Does anyone have experience with Air Physio or Revitive Aerosure devices, please.

I use an acapella, which really helps when im struggling .It was supplied by the respiratory physio, who did the pulmonary rehab course.

I have an acapella also, which works well if you use it correctly. It was provided by the NHS and Amazon had them also.

So it looks like a word in my consultants ear, when I see him in a month, thank you both for your help.

I also find that carbosisteine helps to liquefy the mucus. Good luck

I have an AeroByka, supplied on the NHS. I found it magic when I was producing loads of mucus.

The only way for me to cough enough to bring anything up was to start smoking again for a few months then stop

I find the best way to clear mucus is to huff 3 or 4 times then I cough it up . Huff make a big as huff as you can manage like you would if huffing/blowing on a mirror or glasses to rub a mark off

I use an Aerobika (supplied by nhs) which I find better for me than the acapella. I’ve also recently discovered an app called autogenic drainage (free on I phone App Store but think is on android too) which gives you timed breathing exercises for airway clearance which is useful. I hope you find something that works for you and soon feel better. Good luck!😊

I Had A COPD Nurse Visit On Friday To Do With This I Have Had Trouble With The Exercises For The Gunk Releasing . The Nurse Told Me Too Do The Exercises With Her Etc And Then Said She Would Give Me A Aerobika Device That Will Be Better For Me She Went To Her Car And Got It .. It’s Given If People Are Having Difficulty With The Normal Exercises As She Said It’s Not Cheap And Having Looked At Price £70 Odd I Can See Why . It Is Good And I’m Getting Use To It. Ask Your Nurse Dr If They Can Help U . Take Care Keep Safe 🖤🖤

Try a Salt Pipe. They are wonderful.

I use a device called 'The Flutter', used it for years and works well for me. Available from your GP. I use the Flutter then do the 'huffing'. I have bronchiectasis and asthma. This device was also endorsed by my respiratory team and consultant. Saline nebulisers also help. I also take Carbocisteine to thin the mucus. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I use the Flutter Valve too as I also have asthma and bronchiectasis. I use it after my nebulizer breathing treatments and it helps clear my lungs. I bought mine on Amazon. I had been told to get one by my doctor.

I haven’t used either of the methods you mention but I was in hospital with pneumonia at the beginning of the pandemic (March 2020) and was having a lot of trouble clearing my chest and getting my oxygen levels up. I was put on Carbocisteine, which really helped me to expel excess mucus. I now take Carbocisteine every day at a lower dose and find it really helps control my severe asthma.
