Confusing advice from consultant
I had a terrible experience today. My son's asthma consultant became annoyed at me and my husband because we chose to homeschool our five year old, largely because of his asthma. He gets three to four days of constant coughing when it flares and he was like this at least twice a month. We think viruses

endometriosis and colds/flu
hi, does anyone else feel like having endometriosis makes things like colds and flu worse?? I’m sure I read somewhere that endometriosis can affect the immune system, think it’s linked with leaky gut. I seem to get colds a lot and when I do, they completely wipe me out, and they tend to flare up my endometriosis

My husband has stage 4 CKD and liver cirrhosis and diabetes 2. Yesterday we had a meeting at the hospital with a professor from the transplant team in Birmingham. Since my Open Heart Surgery's twice in April 2019 for an Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm I've had Afib and Tachycardia issues and was on Amiodarone for a few and months and now on bisoprolol. It settled for a while but its gradually came back and more recently its gotten more frequent. My heart

Severe Cold, to Bronchitis; PMR has not returned
Had gotten a cold that became tenacious, as after 1 week of a head cold it progressed to my chest. A week later I had Bronchitis for the first time in my life and starting with week 3 my GP put me on a Prednisone routine of 40 mg, 30, 20, 10 over a course of 10 days. As if that wasn’t enough, she

COPD update and next steps.
Well, hello again. I hope you're all well. My wife saw the ANP yesterday. Given a full rundown of all she has had done and been given etc. She did not prescribe anymore antibiotics as she wants a sputum sample over 3 days to find out exactly what sort of bacteria they are dealing with. Not helpful

Morning cough
Hi folks hope you are all doing as well as possible. I was diagnosed with copd a few years ago and never had any real problems except the odd bronchitis flare and treated with antibiotics . In November I caught a cold and had 3 lots of steroids and antibiotics. My question is I now have a morning cough

Do you feel the cold more than folk who don't have ssc?
I read somewhere that people with ssc feel the cold/complain about feeling cold more than those without this condition, and because of the ssc, rather than if you have raynaurd's alone. I am one of those who needs the room temperature to be 19 degrees or above. Embarrassingly, at work l put the heating

Covid /Flu Jabs
I have recently been diagnosed after being misdiagnosed for rotator cuff! It seems odd this started after Covid/Flu jabs and my Doctor also said she had heard of this, depending how high up the arm the jabs were given. I do not think I will have any more jabs whilst having PMR. Could be coincidence

IVIG after heart surgery and stopping IBRUTIMIB
12 months ago I was on an Ibrutinib clinical trial for my CLL. Ibrutinib worked great for me for years. I found out I needed a triple bypass due to 95% LAD artery blockage. Not good! A stent wasn’t an option in my case due to necessity for blood thinners. Can’t do blood thinners, aspirin and Irbutinib

My wife has potential pneumonia.
Hey everyone. My first post and I've been reading the threads. A brilliant place you have here. My better half came down with what the doctors believe was a very bad (in their words) chest/viral infection. Coughing a lot. Could not get warm at points. Feeling sick at points. Coughing up green phlegm

Asthma cough
Started on Dupilimab a month ago.For the last ten days I have been coughing a lot - even when lying down. Been a bit snotty so I assumed it was rhinitis again - I have sterimar and neilmed sinus rinses. Ears feel " full" as well. A deep breath is enough to bring on a cough - even using my inhaler brings

Acceptance of Permanent AF
Hi everyone Well I have now had to accept that we have exhausted all treatment and I am now in permanent AF. My rate is still high, 100 at rest and 130 on movement for 7 weeks now. I started Digoxin and stopped Flec last Friday and seems to be working slowly, aiming to 70/80 bpm at rest. If this

mountain air stone house problems?
I grew up on the coast of Maine, USA, so elevation 0 and wooden houses and salty sea air. I attended college inland in a small city elevation ~100m. But was only there for 4 years and lived half the time in a concrete apartment and the rest in a wooden house. Then I moved to Munich, Germany, elevation
