Can I trust my 1st ever Endo's advice?
I had my first ever Endo appt today that left me quite overaught and teary all afternoon. My Gp had assured me that the Endo she had referred me to had an interest in Thyroid, so assumed she would be NDT friendly. No, she wasn't, and she lectured me on how bad NDT was as you can never trust NDT to be

Sick, tired, only got one run in the last 2 weeks...
I've got 'flu (proper 'flu with 102F at times) and it has been going on for 2 weeks. This explains why you have not seen me post, except as comments. On Saturday I was in Hoddesdon, Herts, for a conference (warning: conferences when you have 'flu are horrible), I thought I was getting better, but it

Biopsy all over
Good morning everyone. I had my biopsy on Monday the worst part was one of the anaesthetic injections to numb the area. After that I didn't feel the biopsy itself. I had three taken and developed the tip of shoulder pain immediately. This eased off during the 2 hour period of lying on my side. Afterwards

Ablation Follow up
Hello! I had the ablation last Wednesday. First off, those cath labs are amazing. The equipment is like whoaaa! My team was amazing from start to finish. They started in through my right thigh and found I was in flutter which they (hopefully) repaired at a 98% success rate. Afterwards they went through

Over-the-Counter Adrenal Supplements: More Than Meets the Eye
A well-known example is
red
yeast
rice
(RYR), which has been consumed in Asia for centuries and has been associated with potential cardiovascular benefits. Some RYR supplements may contain monacolin K, a mimic drug of the prescription statin drug lovastatin.

Continuous discomfort
Hi all. I'm 8 weeks, it's my first pregnancy. Its taken over 2 years for me to get pregnant. For the last 4 weeks I have felt a lot, and I am just worried it's not normal. I feel sick nearly every hour of the day, I am constipated about 75% of the time, and I am feeling twinges and cramps all the time

First ablation experience
I have found posts about ablation experiences really useful before I had mine for SVT two days ago, so hopefully recounting my experience will also help others. I had to be at Glenfield in Leicester for 11am, but didn’t go for my ablation until 2pm. I was really glad I took a book & magazines to read

Just returned from the hospital after having lower pelvic pain and some brown discharge. I’m 17 weeks and this is our 2nd try at IVF. So anxious at the pain and discharge after a long time trying to conceive midwife suggested we go to A&E to check it out. After an exam, cervix was closed and they put

Pregnancy and the heart
I’ve written previously about pre-eclampsia’s link to heart problems later in life. I had pre-eclampsia with both my pregnancies requiring bed rest in hospital for weeks and early deliveries. After my first child was born my blood pressure was so high my doctor said that it was too dangerous to move

Done with the ablation
Sitting here at the end of my 6 hour bed rest and I’m feeling ectopics. Did anyone’s ablation prevent ectopics from recurring?
