Sitting here at the end of my 6 hour bed rest and I’m feeling ectopics. Did anyone’s ablation prevent ectopics from recurring?

Done with the ablation
No. Ectopics are not unusual and far too early to worry about. Since they are a normal function of the heart they are very difficult to control other than by the usual deep slow breathing exercise we promote. Over awareness of the heart is a common problem for those of us with AF. Worry again in three to six months when your heart has started to heal again. Read our fact sheet and relax.
Nearly 2 weeks after an ablation, I can say that ectopics were frequent for the first week then gradually became less frequent. Still get them a few minutes after any mild exertion and they last just a few minutes. After my ablation my EP said I should be back to normal after a week but this is not the case, thankfully the people on here can provide first hand advise that it takes longer sometimes much longer. My Cardiologist and GP have told me that my recovery is normal and the Cardiologist does not want to see me until 24 April as he does not have any concerns with my progress. Take it easy, eat well with plenty of water, listen to the people on this site and if you get really concerned see your doctor and if need be ask them to discuss your condition with either your cardiologist or EP.
Hi I am one month post ablation and pace maker. I do get ectopic beats but I have learned not to stress over it. I am a nurse so letting go of self diagnosing was important. I no longer check my pulse every time I feel a couple extra beats. I am finding that each week I make a little more progress and my energy level is improving. Try and relax.
