elevated liver enzymes for 10 years no answers
I’ve had up and down liver enzymes for 10 years since having my first child. I have 3 children now. I’ve had scans and yearly blood work. I’ve had autoimmune blood work as well as hep a b c ran. Everything comes back ok. No fat seen in the ultrasound as of yet. Idk 🤷🏻♀️ I’m about 10 lbs overweight

Chronic Liver Disease Post Transplant
Hi, I had a liver transplant in October 2017 and apart from a little set back right at the beginning, meaning I was in Addenbrookes for 5 weeks, I have been really well. I haven’t even had Covid! However a couple of months ago, I had a CT scan which showed that I have chronic liver disease. To say

Help with diet
My husband has been told to cut out salt and reduce fluids to 1.5lt a day due to ascites, but increase protein and carbs and calories intake to around 3000 a day to maintain his weight. He is struggling with this as he has never had a big appetite and would happily exist on bread and sausage. He is type

nose bleed
was rushed to hospital 2weeks ago for pneumonia. Was discharged after a week. Wasn’t home 24 hrs. And out of the blue my nose started bleeding. It hasn’t stopped. Has this happened to anyone else and what did the doctors do to stop it?

Blood test results
Hi, three weeks ago I had a Fibroscan in a mobile community testing van, the result was a reading of 15.1. The nurse suggested cirrhosis of the liver and said a referral for a CT scan was appropriate. I hadn't heard anything for two weeks, as you can imagine, I was beside myself with worry, I phoned

I’m 73 and been feeling extra tired recently, otherwise fit and well. I thought the tiredness might be caused by Keppra a drug I take for epilepsy, I’m also on statins … but anyway the GP did a blood test, the Serum Alanine transaminase was ‘out of range’ at 54 u/l. I’ve always been a drinker but stick

interesting encounter
my spouse was at Costco recently and after shopping ate at the food court. Shared a table with another couple. They got to talking. Turns out the man had PBC! He had a liver transplant 23 years ago. Been doing Ok. They gave my spouse their phone numbers since I wasn’t there. Nice thing is he goes

stent
Hello. My husband had a stent placed into his bile duct to widen it last April (2023) he had it removed in August (23) and a balloon used to widen further strictures (narrowings). All seemed ok. He struggles daily due to his PSC which has caused cirrhosis on the left side of his liver plus portal hypertension

Does changes in liver always mean cancer
Hi My partner has cirrhosis and a spot on the liver which is monitored every 6 months. Following an ultrasound, more spots have now been identified and is going for an MRI and blood tests soon. I am very worried and was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation and does this always result in a

Fibroscan – is it too early to be jubilant?
I do now feel like a fraud being here 😔 and my apologies to anybody here who feels I’ve created a storm in a teacup for myself and that I should clear the cyber waves for genuine issues. But in fairness to myself my GPs have been expressing serious concerns to me, I feel suggesting that I’m bound to

Severe cirrhosis, any hope?
My father is in hospital with severe cirrhosis. He has been drinking a litre of vodka a day for 2 years. It sounds silly but none of us knew about it. He never seemed drunk. We are beating ourselves up wishing we could have intervened sooner. We phoned his DR after finding the empty bottles and he was

Milk thistle
Good morning, I was just wondering if anyone has tried milk thistle to try and improve cirrhosis of the liver and to add bile salts to the body?
