Hi, newly diagnosed NAFLD Cirrhosis severe F4, also type 2 diabetic.Saw consultant last week with results of fibroscan, he wasn't very helpful, told me Google for information, he's arranging for an endoscopy which I'm petrified about to check for bleeding and cancer and said I need to loose weight.
When asked what percentage of liver is damaged he refused to answer, I have no idea how long I've had cirrhosis so unsure what my prognosis could be.
Can't see GP for 2 weeks, I have a healthy diet and know I need to loose 3stone, is there anything else recommended?
Thanks

All I can say that is appalling treatment from your consultant. I had an endoscopy which the procedure is OK and they told me the results there and then .Good luck with yours . Ps I was unhappy with my NHS treatment and decided to go private, not possible for everyone I know but I opted for the Gold Star treatment which was a liver biopsy. I now have exact diagnosis ..
Nothing to be scared of doesn’t hurt just sounds worse than it is. Ask for sedation helps you relax think of somewhere you like being and concentrate on being in the now. Better to know what you are up against than left to wonder and exaggerate your position. We have all been where you are you aren’t alone. Take care x
Not the most pleasant of things an endoscopy. I had the throat spray but most hospitals offer sedation as well.
