I'm not sure but I cut out carbs a few years ago and started Intermittent Fasting last year.

Just like me most harmful advice i got was told to snack carbs before bed, 36 hour fast sunday to tuesday.

Latest stats at the end of the fast 8% body fat, 42% lean muscle mass visceral 9

This is the first time my visceral has been normal, below 10.

My weight has bounced off 92kg and gone upto 94kg but its muscle.

I will understand it happened to me to.

Inteteresting I have regular venesection every 6 to 8 weeks for thick blood as a byproduct my ferritin fell from over 500 to 74

The treatment of venesection needs research blt pleass note

Do you have Haemochromatosis?

Great question I have one gene for it, my mum died at 94 in the process of tests it became clear she had cirrhosis, nose bleeds etc.

I think she must have had both genes.

I got one, this is an area of research that needs looking at.

My ferritin was over 500 but not as high those with haemochromatosis, there

is limited reseacrch linking onr gene to higher risk of NAFLD.

The effect of lower ferritin is really profound, it damages the liver and of course is increased by a damaged liver pushing it out into the bloodstream.

I was diagnosed with hypogonadism possibly because the part of my brain that singles T production failed due to being painted in iron, certainly my brain was failing I was forgetful and cloudy thoughts . Now I am back working as a digital nomad on complex issues with a cognitive strength that I have not enjoyed since my 20s

Stopping anti Ds and replacement Testogel, plus tadalafil aka cialis has led to return of full sex function.

My penis has returned to its normal size.

My testes have not shrunk which normally occurs with male HRT

My nmol is 24 up from 8.5 for T.

The T thickened my blood so that led to venesection which led to lower ferritin which my cloudy brain was washed clean of iron.

Could I now stop the HRT? I dont know.

Not really keen to change anything as now only Testogel, Vitamin D and Venesection.

It works for me, funny how the treatments went full circle but seemed to have reached a very pleasurable equilibrium.

I feel like I am 25 all over again!

You never had cirrhosis I guess in the first place.

Strange that the doctors told me I had, strange that I believed it so tried to take my own lifeIf you have a mindset that cirrhosis cannot be reversed to at least some degree then you live with the certainty of a miserable end. Stacking up on carbs just before bed thinking you are doing the right thing.

If you have a mindset that cirhosis can be reversed to some degree, as the esteemed Professor of liver research at Newcastle said to me during the BLT lecture then you will strive to fight it.

If you need a transplant you will be listed earlier. If you have a healthy lifestyle you will not egregiously destroy such a precious gift by smoking drinking and being obese.

The cost benefits seem to accrue to the mindset.

You have my sympathy typing 'you never had cirrhosis' suggests a lot of pain in your life.
