Pleurisy
I have pulmonary fibrosis (caused by
radiotherapy
in 1990 for Hodgkin's disease), a paralysed right hemi-diaphragm and asthma. I also have multiple other chronic conditions. Should I expect pleurisy to be a recurrent visitor from now on?

Adenoma carcinoma with bone and brain mets
She started Osimertinib in July and has had 5 sessions of full brain
radiotherapy
. She is making big improvements each day but cannot walk without support. She is also struggling to swallow but the oncologist believes that's her medication for sickness and reflux.

I have told him about the
radiotherapy
which he knows when I had it twice - so that is no problem - the chemo is - he is really frightened - I keep telling him he is not going to die from this - just look at me, I'm still alive - but I do understand how he feels - chemo can not be very nice & I didn't

Pet Scan result
What was seen as suspicious, has after a conference, turned out to be fibrosis, scarring from the
radiotherapy
, so not cancer after all. Another CTScan has been ordered for 3 months time.

Anyone here diagnosed with secondary cancer after chemo and radiation for prostate cancer?
I’ve been reading lately about secondary cancers associated with chemotherapy (platinum more often than taxane) and radiation treatment for solid tumors such as prostate cancer. We are dealing with a very resistant type of prostate cancer and as a result, my husband has had carboplatin, docetaxel, Lupron

Up and down thyroid since radiation
I’m sorry to ask again as I know I’ve asked before and gotten wonderful answers. My Tsh in last months labs was going back into normal range so I assumed this month I would be even more in the normal range or even higher indicating hypothyroidism, however my Tsh went back down. Is that normal for it

While in there, he showed me scar tissue in my prostate from
radiotherapy
and cryotherapy. I never had surgery. He decided to leave the catheter in for a few days to “stretch” the tissue.

Adding radiation therapy to prostate cancer surgery has been a tough call. New science eases the dilemma
The meta-analysis, which included 2,153 patients followed for an average of five years, found that 88% of men who held off on radiation did not have a relapse, compared to 85% who had radiation soon after surgery. Among those who held off, 67% still didn't need radiation up to eight years later. Urinary

SRT or ART? I was about to do ART but read these studies just in time (less than 2 weeks before radiation was going to start).

Just finished radiotherapy but feel overwhelmed
Lymph node removal showed no spread, so lumpectomy and
radiotherapy
, along with taking Tamoxifen (oncotype result 17, so no chemo). Haven't felt too bad physically, apart from severe cording following surgery, which is now almost cleared up and finished my
radiotherapy
yesterday.

My cancer has come back in my chest bone!
It hasn’t spread anywhere else yet and I am due to have
radiotherapy
but my bone consultant is on holiday for two weeks so I haven’t a clue what to expect or my prognosis. Has anyone experienced the same? X

My treatment of a Gleason 3 +4 measuring 11 mm x 4 mm , near apex
Has any of you underwent
radiotherapy
plus six months ADT as an alternative choice to RP plus lymphnodes dissection , both treatments presented as equivalent . For my condition , I chose RT plus ADT as less invasive .

Article
I have written a patient perspective article about
radiotherapy
and acute and late effects and it’s been accepted by a medical imaging journal for their special edition which is out later in the year. I mention PRDA UK 👍🏻🙂🥰
