My mum was diagnosed in May with adenoma carcinoma with bone mets to her vertebrae. In July she started having seizures a CT scan showed no tumours but when she had an MRI scan it showed extensive brain mets. We were told that she had days to live.
She started Osimertinib in July and has had 5 sessions of full brain radiotherapy. She is making big improvements each day but cannot walk without support. She is also struggling to swallow but the oncologist believes that's her medication for sickness and reflux.
Has anyone got any success stories with lung cancer with bone and brain mets?
Also has anyone gained strength to walk again?
Lastly, has anyone been on another targetted therapy after Osimertinib was their first treatment?
Thanks in advance x

So sorry to hear about your Mum and how very difficult this must be for you all. It must have been quite a shock to be told your Mum had only days to live yet with some treatment you say your Mum is making big improvements daily, which is encouraging in having that bit more time.

Is your Mum getting support from physiotherapy in her walking, if not it may be worth asking her lung cancer nurse specialist or oncologist.

As you are a great support to your Mum, it is important that you also take care of yourself.
