Tim’s run - 8k in Church Lawton
I was greatly saddened to read first from Tim of his Cancer Diagnosis and then to hear of his passing. When I first started C25k running after my Retirement in September 2019 he was so lovely welcoming me to the forum and offering great words of advice and encouragement which I still adhere to to this

Best Surgeon for an Acoustic Neuroma
I keep seeing Queen's Square appear as a centre of excellence but, if so, who would be the best surgeon to see for a tumour which has already had
radiotherapy
. Is there another centre / surgeon within the UK or abroad we should be considering?

Dad has lung cancer
They have said just palliative care and potentially
radiotherapy
to manage symptom as they arise. No biopsy needed as it wouldn’t change the prognosis. Does that sound about right… should I be asking for anything else?? He is only 64 and I feel they almost as if they write people off.

Post radiotherapy back pain
I had chemoradiotherapy treatment in 03/2021 for the return of colorectal cancer in followed by surgery in 07/2021. During the chemoradiotherapy I suffered from low back back pain and skin issues in the same area. I was told that this would settle down once I had recovered from the treatment. The tumour

Sharing a recording of a Lung Cancer conference for patients
Hi everyone At the end of October, one of the leading cancer centres in the US held an online conference for cancer patients and carers. It was recorded and you can watch the sessions now. Its a brilliant opportunity to hear lots of specialist doctors talking about treatment options and new research

Husband Diagnosed with Oesophagus cancer
We've been told he cannot have surgery we're waiting to see the oncologist to discuss if he might get some
radiotherapy
though they've said the risks of this are massive. The MacMillan nurse told him that he has only "multiple months" left.

RLS and the Neupro patch
I have had RLS ever since I can remember, but it was once moderate and controllable.Last year I received 8 1/2 weeks of radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Hopefully the cancer is under control but it was during that treatment time that I began with severe RLS. Despite numerous trials of medications

How to prepare for the Radiation Therapy? Your advise/help are appreciated.
My husband will receive 20 session of radiation therapy which started on 11/3/22. He is drinking 64 oz water every day therefore he is very hydrated. He is doing everything by the “book”, but Today they weren’t able to administer the radiation because he was gassy (took 2 gas x tablet 1 hour before

Hey lucky me - I now have 2 cancers
I wrote about this 2 months ago and things have changed so I'm re-writing my post: It's important to note I skipped my May Lupron injection.
8/30 Mayo C11 Choline Pet scan:
1. New choline avid marrow occupying lesion in the mid right humerus likely represents metastaticdisease. Additional focus

Shocking life expectancy
The oncologist has said that he will have
radiotherapy
on his neck and then back on treatment and now stage . My husband asked about life expectancy (I didn't want to know) and he said 12 months. How can this be true... he's only 41 and is in good health considering.
