Should I ask for a new assessment - third edition - the results are good and bad
I am pretty depressed at the moment, when I should be grateful for having had one reprieve thanks to the palliative
radiotherapy
and for having these few good months when I expected none.

Ups and downs of screening for a Phase 1 trial
To those of you who are considering drug trials, my advice is to be prepared for ups and downs. My husband is being screened for a Phase 1 trial at the Royal Marsden, UK. New to the forum- in a complete spin
The oncologist recommended whole brain
radiotherapy
which would give me between 3 and 12 months to live and that there were no other treatment options. I changed my oncologist and was referred to a neurologist as well. I received targeted CyberKnife treatment to the remaining tumours.

Recurrent DCIS
Hi all I had a lumpectomy and
radiotherapy
about eight years ago to deal with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) it has now recurred, what an absolute pain. I’ve had a mammogram and ultrasound and the radiologist thinks I will need surgery. I won’t know for sure until next Wednesday.

Confused, shocked, unsure
Radiotherapy
and Chemotherapy isn't an option either. She was prescribed steroids. As a preventative measure only she was offered Chemotherapy tablets for 5 days once a month only which she has accepted. After 3 months they will scan again and see if there has been any improvement.

Risk of second primary cancer after primary radiotherapy for PC
Personally, I wouldn't make TOO much of this (the increase in incidence isn't huge), but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be considered. Also, a prospective study would likely be more meaningful. Note that the lead author is a RO. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2794737

Seems a long time
Because he also has COPD they said they couldn’t operate so he was given 20 sessions of
radiotherapy
in October 2021. Since then he hasn’t seen his oncologist at all, just a phone call every 12 weeks. He spent 6 days in hospital earlier this year as he caught covid.

Small cell lung cancer with liver mets and malignant pleural effusion
He finished
radiotherapy
just over two weeks ago… I asked the doctor for a prognosis but he said he couldn’t say but it wasn’t good… I’m terrified about what the future holds and how little time we might have left…

Heartbroken
He has done two rounds of chemo and one of
radiotherapy
, is on steroids and thankfully is fairly mobile. Hospital made a mistake with the steroids at one stage and he severely deteriorated but apart from that he has some independence on the necessities and is able to go for walks at a slow pace.

Flomax and Me
How do you know when you can go off of flomax? Long term side effects? I'm 3 months out from my radiation therapy at Kaiser. My flomax script was over at 6 weeks post radiation! Then, my urination was very painful, demanding and frequent. My doctor had no comment other than this was a result of the
