Are there any papers on TSH going suppressed when you take T3?
Does anyone know of papers/ trials/ research which show that TSH is often suppressed when you take T3? I think this may be a problem at my next endo appointment, as my TSH is often around 0.005 ! My T3 and T4 levels are fairly high but have never been over range. January 2020 Medichecks (similar to tests

madness of king George. Was it thyroid?
I was reading up about George the third the other day, looking at his portraits and it looks clear to me that he had thyroid eye disease and symptoms of hashis. I also wondered about the infamous purple urine and if he might have been drinking loads of iodine that led to thyroid storms. What is odd but

Iodine and salt in Hoshimotos thyroid
I recently read a article where the writer wrote that she lost weight in Hoshimotos thyroid on a diet that consisted of iodine and taking extra salt daily. I understood from my endo that I should avoid taking vitamins that contain iodine as it interferes with the thyroid. Any thoughts? Thanks

Abdominal Pains and all
Hi all, I hope you are staying safe and well. I'm just writing to see if anyone has been in a similar situation to me, I'm really feeling unwell and not sure what to do. To give you the short story I was diagnosed with 3 issues last year, fibroids, endometriosis IV and chocolate cysts on both ovaries

Graves disease and Hashimotos thyroiditis
Hello. I just wanted to ask if anyone has been diagnosed with Graves and Hashimotos with some thyroid Opthalmology and a benign nodule and cyst. I feel like I'm the only one! How can someone be hyper and hypo at the same time. My endocrinologist says I'm lucky, she hopes they will balance themselves

How are your calcium and PTH levels?
I had RAI treatment for Graves 40 years ago. 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with a parathyroid adenoma and had that removed. (by the way--people who took radio active iodine are advised by the NDC to have their PTH hormone levels tested every 5 years) Recently I have suffered from insomnia and extreme

Wit's end! Switch Levo brands, try NDT again, be patient with different dosage?
Dear wise and helpful friends, On 13 Dec. my labs were the best ever and on 31 Jan. they changed again, with TSH too high etc. I’m putting them next to each other: TSH: 4.80 -- range is 0.20 – 5.00 -- then TSH : 5.99 - FT3: 4.10 – range is 1.8 – 4,5 -- then FT3: 5,12 FT4: 10.01 – range is 7.0

Anyone use amitriptyline for endo pain?
I've seen mention of amitriptyline used for endo pain on here. Can anyone tell me their experiences with this? I'm at a point where my medication isn't working well enough and am looking for other options. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know too! I'm currently taking 60mg codeine

Other questions about MRI scans vs PET/CT
I wrote a few weeks about about this question. One of the responses was: justfor 15 days ago The health hazard from a PET/CT comes from two components: That of the radiotracer and the CT irradiation. How to minimize each of them: 1) Higher sensitivity scanners need lower quantities of radiotracer

Mirena coil?
Just wanting some advice/reassurance on the Mirena coil, I had it fitted 3 weeks ago, didn’t have much of a choice as doctors said they wouldn’t do a second laparoscopy without me trying the coil first. Also got prescribed naproxen to try and reduce the amount of codeine I’m taking (wayyyy to much for

Gargling for upper respiratory tract infections
Random trial reported below. Not Coronavirus but may reduce viral load in throat which has been reported to be initially high in the throat for Coronavirus, see second extract. Gargling with salt water is common in UK for throat infections. If I get a sore throat I think I will try gargling with a high

I live in Australia. I am aged 66. I was diagnosed about 3 years ago, with an overactive thyroid. I was told that my reading should be between 10 and 20 and when I had my first blood test it was 79. I had been taking mollecular iodine drops for a period of 3 years or so, as I was told I was deficient
