Amitriptyline for Endometriosis - what’s your experience?
I’ve tried several painkillers now: codeine, mefanamic acid, tramadol, codydramol and naproxen. They’ve now prescribed me Amitriptyline and I was wondering what anyone else’s experience was with this drug or any other medication they have found useful with managing endometriosis pain?

Research on Links between Fibromyalgia and Thyroid
Can anyone point me towards recent research on links between thyroid health and fibromyalgia please? I started with fibromyalgia since having thyroid problems which has got significantly worse since having radio iodine treatment about 18 months ago. I am desperate and cannot get any help or support.

Iodine dressing and thyroid tests
Hi quick question, I was bit by a small dog this morning and was sent to minor injuries unit by work. They put an iodine dressing on me but mentioned that they used to say not to use iodine in hypothyroid patient's but because it's on my skin and superficial it will be fine. I have little faith in health

RAI or Neomercazole
I have been diagnosed with Graves Disease and need to decided whether to try take the meds Neo-Mercozol for 18-24months which I believe as a 50% chance of working or RAI. I am so confused. Has anyone had success on Meds? Has someone done RAI and wished they didnt?

Iodine and goitres
Hi I’ve just been diagnosed with having multinodular goitre. I also have an underactive thyroid, take T3 only and feel well. However I still cannot lose weight. I’ve bought some iodine as Ives read it helps with goitres and with losing weight. Does this seem an effective method to take iodine?

Dosage of Liothyronine and Levothyroxine
Post RAI have been on 75mcg Levo. Had DIO 2 test and am heterozygous. Have been on T3 for a week. Levo was reduced to 50mcg and told to take T3 10mcg twice daily and increase to 3x daily in a couple of weeks depending on how I feel. Vit D and iron were within normal range. Taking selenium.First dose

Pros and Cons.
I'm wondering if anyone can be of help to me please. I have a rather difficult situation going on here and I am due for a full body scan (C.T) and a operation on my mouth mid March) However the contrast agent they want/will be using is Iodine 350. Today I was refused the scan by a young lady because

Feeling Hyper with Normal/Hypo Labs;
Hey all, It’s been a minute but now I’m five years out and still struggling. My TSH is mid range and I am on 175 mcg6x a week and now 88 mcg on Sundays. I feel this dose contradict my symptoms. For the last few months I have been waking up with my heart racing, night sweats, headache and adrenaline

Buprenophine success!
I am so grateful to Shumbah for posting and sharing her experience and success with Buprenorphine. I was able to get it prescribed from a neurologist here in Japan yesterday (0.2 grams as a suppository) and I tried it for the first time ( 1 x 0.2 mg suppository) last night. I slept for almost 10 hours

Just had the worst experience
So went and saw gynaecologist today as been getting bad pain in right side for months now due to an endometrioma. The lady I saw did not seem to specialise in the condition and actually stated that she was a registrar. Said that although it is causing me a lot of pain it is quite small at just over

A negative association between urinary iodine concentration and the prevalence of hyperuricemia and gout
In my mind, some sort of association between gout and thyroid has long seemed likely. However, it would probably be a gross over-simplification to suggest that everyone with gout is hypothyroid, and their gout was caused by that hypothyroidism. As so many papers, this too calls for further research.

Endo appt results
I don’t want to be negative but what a waste of time that appt was! I didn’t see the same Doctor as last time, they STILL didn’t have any details of my RAI treatment so we were still in the dark. He was a nice enough chap but the same answer to every question was very ambiguous so I’m none then wiser

Yellow Mucus Following Circumcision
I had a circumcision 17 days ago; quite a nasty one as i had left it 25 years (I'm 51) and 90% of the foreskin was stuck to the head and needed to be separated. The 1st few days were fairly pain free, but I've had some discomfort following this and occasionally pain levels go through the roof for a
