outpatient from the hosp. I'm concerned that this is going to start becoming a regular thing again, after being pain free (relatively) for the best part of 8 months. Especially considering all day I've had this pain again. I can only subdue the pain with codeine and amitriptyline. I am still having a dull pain, even with this cocktail. Any ideas on what I should do from here? The dr has booked me in for another meeting with a specialist but no doubt that will be months from now, and I don't want to just be operated on if I dont need to be. I'm only 24, with no children (yet). Thanks

Another Laparoscopy?
Hi SasD, I completely understand how you’re feeling. If you're struggling with pain, maybe try getting another GP app’t (most surgeries are doing telephone or video consultations). There are tons of different options for pain meds that they could offer.
In terms of the surgery, bear in mind that there are different ways of removing the endo tissue. Maybe a different method will work better for you. I’ve been quite lucky in that I’ve had way less pain since my third surgery to remove the tissue (two years ago now). Having said that, remember it’s always your choice, and if you don’t want the surgery, or if you want to ‘wait and see’ how you get on without it, you absolutely reserve the right to do so.
I was 24 when my gynae problems started (including endo). I’m now 32 and type this as my baby’s sleeping in her Moses basket next to me. Having Endometriosis is horrendous, but it doesn’t have to define your future. It is possible to have children (if you want to).
Wishing you all the best x
