Sorry can’t seem to reply to anyone. Yes it is a radioactive iodine scan to see what is going on. It is normal practice to stop meds for 4 weeks for best results

Yes, it seems that you have to stop thyroid hormones for a period and you should have been advised. This is a link that may be helpful:-

This is an excerpt from above link:

"Tell your physician about any prescription or over-the-counter medications you’re taking. Discuss how they should be used before and during the test.

You may have to discontinue thyroid medication from four to six weeks before your scan. Some heart medications and any medicine containing iodine also may require adjustments.
