over medicated and breathless
At the time my personal circumstances meant I couldn’t have the recommended surgery or
radioactive
iodine
so I chose to have carbimazole and beta blockers. Eventually it settled down and I didn’t need treatment but it came back a couple of times needing more carbimazole.

Problematic mucous & dry cough ..
Hello, Dad's cough is now pretty mucousy, and dry at the same time. Both are frustrating/aggravating for him, in different ways. For the mucous part - we try to do some mild chest tapping to encourage it out & I know that drinking good amounts of water is good for that too. Any

Lone Paroxysmal AF or Hypothyroid Symptom?

Advice on codeine v tramadol
I'm hoping for some advice because my doctor and the neurologists have been no help. For the past few years I have been taking 50mg tramadol, 300mg Gabapentin and 50mg sertraline. Prior to this I managed to wean off Pramipexole. I haven't increased the dosage of any of my current meds because I had hoped

pain in arms, looking for alternative to naproxen
Hi, I have been struggling with fluid retention and swollen legs for some time now. Last week my orthopaedic consultant requested that I go into hospital so they could have a good look at the wound on my left foot as it wasn't healing very well. I had been taking naproxen for arthritis and shoulder pain

Anxiety
I had aTT in august for papillary cancer then Rai 131 in October. About a month after rai I felt really down and depressed this seems to have stopped and I’ve been left with anxiety and sleep problems. Could I be over mediated? I’m on 150mg and lost weight since I was put on levothyroxine

Can iodine affect thyroid medication test result numbers?
Hi all few days ago I was prescribed a medication for atrial fibrillation, namely Amiodarone. It's contains iodine and if I had a thyroid which I don't my thyroid would have to be monitored regularly on this medication. So by having no thyroid I do not need to have regular thyroid checks. But I was wondering

battling with virtual gp
I’ve been on Levo since 98 after RAI to treat graves. I’ve been very happy on 175mg for years. Been told that I’m over treated, dropped to 162.5, then to 150 sept 22. Started to feel a Little Woolley and slower than usual. Found that my motivation has changed in that I’m finding it more difficult to

Overactive thyroid? Does reducing iodine intake in your diet help? It has for me so far.
I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid / Graves Disease in 2015. Between 2016 and 2021 I was on "block & replace" treatment - 40mg of carbimazole daily along with 150mcg of levothyroxine. My thyroid had stabilised by 2021, after which point I was taken off all medication. I relapsed with an overactive
