Recurrence after prostatectomy
I have a relative who had surgery 6.5 years ago. Pathology was very favorable, 3+3+tertiary 4 i.e. less than 5%, no pos margins, no ECE, no nodes. He remained undetectable for 6.5 years, but now is .07 verified. What would SOC be for him? Prostate bed or wide radiation, length of ADT, just Lupron or

About to commence my treatment BUT now not sure - HELP
Hi All. So I have decided to start ADT for 6 months which will be followed by 20 sessions of IMRT and Brachy Boost in June 2024 and finishing off with another 6 - 12 months of ADT. I was ok with going down this path as was my RO and then someone said to me, "Why put yourself through 18 months of hell

Recuperation Tips & Tricks after Prostatectomy?
For anyone having (robotic assisted laparoscopic) prostatectomy what are your best tips and tricks to make recuperation easier. Things you wish you knew in advance maybe. Or products to buy, clothing to wear, foods to have on hand, medications that make a difference, making sleep easier, and so on.

1, 3 or 6 month ADT?
Originally, after a prostatectomy and 40 radiation treatments, I had a one month shot of Lupron followed by a six month shot of Lupron. My PSA went to undetectable. Seven years later my PSA crept up to seven and I was put on a monthly shot of Firmagon for life. My PSA is again undetectable and all scans

Determinants of PSA Response to Bipolar Androgen Therapy [BAT]
Responders were more likely to have had a
radical
prostatectomy
as definitive therapy and were more likely to have been treated with an androgen receptor (AR) antagonist (enzalutamide or apalutamide) immediately prior to BAT (compared to abiraterone).

Alendronic Acid. Making my own choices.
Just an offload really: I woke up today (AA day) and decided not to take it. I’ve just been reading previous posts on here and ive found it pretty scary to read that once stopping taking it, it can stay in your system for 10 yrs. That’s frightening stuff. I was diagnosed over the phone withPMR

Good diet so no need for Adcal?
I asked my GP (again!)about taking Adcal and explained that a lot of people on this forum were automatically prescribed it when put on steroids. GP asked about my diet and said I was getting plenty of calcium in my diet. He said calcium and Vitamin D levels were good on my last blood test and the DEXA

QOL gone
Prostatectomy followed 8 months later with ADT and radiation. Mostly incontinent since. Always had overactive bladder before cancer. Urologist did cystoscope and said everything looked normal. Its been > 2 weeks and I am in constant misery. Bladder hurts and have strong feeling of needing to urinate

Questions about hormone therapy...
I just had a
radical
prostatectomy
, including the removal of nerves. Post surgery pathology downgraded the two legions to a Gleason 5 and a Gleason 7, with no indication of any cancer touching the anterior wall.

Thoughts??
I was diagnosed in November of 2021 and had a
radical
prostatectomy
on 7 March 2022. However, my pathology showed positive margins. I have not had any other treatment since my surgery. My PSA has changed from undetectable to .04 in the year following my surgery.
