So a few weeks ago I posted my latest TSH, T3 and T4 results and advised I’m a poor converter and advised to take T3 and test vitamins. Luckily my doctor agreed to test Folate, B12, D and Ferritin. They came back all satisfactory according to their ranges. These are the results and would welcome any advice on them as I have a phone appointment tomorrow with GP.
Folate
5.61 ug/l (>5.38)
B12
508.0 ng/l (211.0-911.0)
25OH Vitamin D(GP only)
68.8 nmol/1
Don’t know why it had (GP only)
Ferritin
62.4 ug/l (10.00-291.00)
He also did a full blood count which all came back well within ranges so won’t post them except for this one which I have no idea what it is.
Eosinophil count 0.83 (0.02-0.5)
So whatever that is looks like it’s over range.
Anyway any advice would be appreciated as I doubt my gp will suggest anything as all apparently satisfactory although he did say once results come back and discussed he would write to an Endo for advise.
Aside from my Levothyroxine (150mg)
I also take Bendrofumethiaze (a water table re blood pressure)
Adcal-D3 which I was told is not good as Plain vitamin D is better so I will be changing this.
Those are all prescribed.
I also take myself
Selenium
Vitamin c
Turmeric
Garlic
Evening Primrose oil.
I would love some advise on anything else I could take that might help. Thanking you in advance.

Igennus Super B is good quality and cheap vitamin B complex. Contains folate. Full dose is two tablets per day. Many/most people may only need one tablet per day. Certainly only start on one per day (or even half tablet per day for first couple of weeks)
Or Thorne Basic B or jarrow B-right are other options that contain folate, but both are large capsules
If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results
Eating iron rich foods like liver or liver pate once a week plus other red meat, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily orange juice or other vitamin C rich drink can help improve iron absorption
This is interesting because I have noticed that many patients with Hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism, start to feel worse when their ferritin drops below 80 and usually there is hair loss when it drops below 50.
