Bleeding for Months Straight

So, I have a diagnosis of PCOS. In 2021 I was told I had deep pelvic endometriosis aswell. Following a recent MRI I had in June, I was told they couldn’t see endometriosis but I definitely still had PCOS, so they undiagnosed me or passed it off as the scan type. This was really frustrating and reverse in progress of my diagnosis journey. I’ve always had agonisingly painful periods that stop me from doing daily tasks. My periods are irregular but usually would last around 5-7 days maximum.

In June/July this year I was about over a month late for my period. When I got it, I was on for 10 days which was not normal for me. I thought maybe it was a one off. 3 weeks later my period returned and continued for a month straight. Despite trying different hormones and tablets nothing worked. The doctors then decided I try Norethisterone, a period delay pill. I started taking them, and if did stop my period, but after 3 days it would return, and I’ve been in a cycle of talking them and then it keeps returning. So I’ve decided they are not working and it was my last option. I even tried to get a coil fitted which they’ve been begging me to get for months, but when I went to have it done, they rejected me and said I was too complicated for the coil so it’s safer I don’t have it. I don’t react well to any birth control pills, or Provera to regulate my period. I’m still on my period and in a lot of pain and don’t feel like going back to the doctor because there is not much they can do. My next gynae appointment is not until April 2025 where I will decide if I get an investigative laparoscopy.

Anyone experiences something similar?

Could you go on prostrap or zoladex which would stop the bleeding and put you in chemical menopause? It would give you a chance to recover although I don't know how old you are. Chemical menopause works well for some people.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately that’s not an option for me either :( I’m only 21. X

Provera and norithestetone are very similar. If you can't handle provera (like me) and you can't have the coil (like me) then you may not be good on progestin x
