To prime or not to prime?

just wondered what people’s experience are of starting short antagonist protocol from a natural start vs using oestrogen priming?

I’ve always been prescribed provera or norethisterone before to schedule my bleed so have no true experience of a natural start. I’ve also had tostran and DHEA priming previously though obviously they don’t really alter how you start.

I did oestrogen priming last cycle, but as I’ve posted on here recently, this led to my worst cycle yet with no embryos to transfer.

I have low AMH and poor response and do tend to have quite a spread of follicle sizes. Oestrogen priming didn’t seem to make a massive difference in that I still had one lead follicle that sped away, and I did get more eggs (7 vs 1-4) but worse quality.

Nervous about an entirely natural start but wonder if I give it a go?

Any experiences or opinions? Thanks as always xx

this is the way I’ve always done it so no comparison of non natural I’m afraid but I would say if it’s something you are thinking of for me that tends to be an itch you want to scratch and is worth a go! Some people just respond better when following natural cycle. If I were you I would try natural maximum stims and give it a wee go! I do still tend to have one leading but not too far in front of the others xx

Thanks you’re right I think it is an itch I need to scratch! I generally react badly to any tampering with my natural cycle so maybe a natural start will be good. Worth a try. xx
