Provera/norethisterone for cycle timing with DOR

I’m planning for embryo banking cycles in the new year. Unfortunately my DH is likely to need to be away for work in the early part of the year - it’s his most profitable time. And I don’t want to delay given I’ll be over 38 in early 2025.

So just thinking about using something to delay period and time cycles this time.

Has anyone been advised before that this may affect their response or blastocyst rate with DOR?

I had a good cycle with the natural start recently. But I have also used progesterone to time cycle before a couple of years ago when at a clinic they had to schedule (I can’t have OCP due to migraine with aura) and while number of eggs not that different I am just nervous to use anything that may suppress as my AMH a bit lower now.

any experience appreciated xx

I used northisterone this time, having been overly suppressed and my cycle cancelled while on the pill last time. Luckily I don’t think it affected me as I got a decent number of eggs.

Thanks Diane. We have done this last October 2023 (just in case DH comes back from work away with COVID or the like) so it is an option too isn’t it. Do you know if frozen sperm is more likely to cause issues with fertilisation or need ICSI? My DH has great sperm parameters on his tests so hopefully samples would thaw well 🤞🏼
