I have had a round of clomid which didn't work as I didn't ovulate. I have non existent periods and had to take provera to force a period so that I could do my first round of clomid and I've now gotten a natural period after 39 days. Does this mean I could have ovulated on the first round?

Clomid & Periods
Hi,
I’m sorry I can’t answer your question directly, but I did just want to say as someone who has always had sporadic periods and long periods of time between a cycle, I get how frustrating this is. I also get the added frustration of having to take extra meds on top of everything to just start any treatment as you have no idea if and when you will have a bleed. Big hug, it’s so tough. I’ve had a course of clomid to and I had one 30 day cycle (complete shock!) and then the others it didn’t work for and highly unlikely I ovulated as long cycle (60 + days). Some people it works for and some it just doesn’t unfortunately. Fingers and toes crossed you get some luck with ovulation soon.x
Thank you for replying! It's just so confusing and frustrating 😂 I just wasn't expecting to get a period when the blood test came back that I didn't ovulate, so just confused me when it did arrive naturally! but onto the next with everything crossed!
Good luck on your journey xx
Everything crossed this second round of Clmid works better for you and you do ovulate. I know if you can ovulate it does have much better odds than IVF which is why they have this as the first assisted treatment option. A word of caution the ovulation prediction sticks did not work for me and said I had an almost permanent “fertile window” on Clomid which I knew was false. Not sure how they are monitoring yours? By a scan maybe? Thanks I’ve done 2 rounds of IVF last year (unsuccessful) and now evaluating our options. xx
Usage of clomid can help regulate irregular periods and help encourage ovulation If unsuccessful once the lining reaches a certain thickness it will" break down" This causes a bleed [period ]
Good luck for the future
