News for you
Hi all, I have not been on the site to post (only read all your messages) since I went back to school in September; what a shock to my system it has been after being off so long with all my health problems. I have felt overwhelmed by it all; new schemes of work, new classes, data, targets etc. Sadly

Iodoral or Kelp Tablets
Have been advised by Dr P to I am low in iodine and should supplement with Iodoral or Kelp tablets. Does anyone take these and/or have recommendation where to buy. I did the Genova thyroid hormones test and T4 production is low, but have not idea what that really means. Test results 229 (347 - 1994

Hair loss after surgery?
Hey ladies. I have been driving myself insane as I have been losing hair a lot over the past few weeks and I've been finding all different reasons it could be. Then I noticed 2 weeks ago when it started was August 20th, which is exactly 3 months after May 20th which was when I had my laproscopic surgery

Steroid Injections
After a couple of years of yo-yo Alopecia I wrote to my doctor quoting a couple of 'miracles' that had been reported in the papers. One woman had taken steroids for a chest infection and her Alopecia Totalis went and she now has a full head of hair. The second miracle was a Rheumatoid Arthritis drug

Complementary therapy funding?
Hello all :) Has anyone here had success securing funding for complementary therapies through their local NHS dept? Eg: shiatsu, acupuncture, homeopathy etc etc. I currently have Shiatsu massage to help relieve my FMS pain and symptoms, but at nearly £50 a go I can only afford one session every 6 weeks

Hair loss, NDT and heavy metals.
I have just switched from Levothyroxine to Nature Throid. I continue to suffer with hair loss. I wondered what people's experiences are after taking NDT in respect of stopping hair loss? My ferritin etc has been checked and reasonably ok. I supplement with Biotin and Evening Primrose oil. Also has anyone

O.M.G. So depressed
I made the mistake of looking at some " old " photo's , not too old two and a half years maybe. What a shock , who is that looking at me in the mirror? Sunken eyes , ratty thin hair, wrinkles on my wrinkles. How do I get myself back and is it possible? At least I was approaching ' over the hill ' when

Female hair loss
Hi All. I am 42 and have suffered with female pattern hair loss since my late teens. It has really affected my self esteem. My hair is fine and coarse too and It has caused me a lot of upset over the years. After years of spending fortunes on hair products, full blood tests and a complete healthly lifestyle

Hair loss when on Acitretan
I've had pustular plantar psoriasis for nearly a year now and its affected my mobility and general quality of life badly. Having PUVA on my feet & Acitretan at 50mcg daily, I've noticed thinning hair - on body, eyelashes , eyebrows, and scalp - to the extent there was nothing needing trimming when I

Hair Loss?
Hair loss is a common theme on this forum. I have just read the following article and it does seem worth a trial of this shampoo. http://www.hairlosstalk.com/hair-loss-guides.php an excerpt:- We don't even carry it in our Online Product Center, and we push it as the staple of every hair loss treatment

What causes hair loss? Is it low ferritin, the being hypothyroid itself or/and medication?
My hair has become so thin, sometimes I just want to cry. It's especially thin around the sides - above my ears, and I often find hair on my pillow, coming out in the shower, when I brush it, falling out on my clothes - in fact, I find hairs everywhere about the house!! I struggle to tie it back nowadays

Any young women aged 20-25 years old experiencing hair loss, thinning and easily breakable hair?
I'm young, eat healthy and exercise. Waiting for blood test results but I'm trying to rule out hereditary baldness. I have always parted my hair from one side and that side is visibly thinner and receding. Itchy scalp for the last 4 days. I have a IUD so can it be a hormonal factor?
