Breathlessness on effort ( but not always)
Two subjects: Pre Premature Ventricular contractions ( not a typing error my cardiologist told me I had those during my ECG today) Breathlessness going up a hill ( but not everytime). Take 3.75 Bisoprolol and Flec 200 slow release. ( My cardiologist says these don't cause that - hmmm) I'd be grateful

Husband's life expectancy with decompensated cirrhosis
My husband, who is 62, was recently diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis and has ascites and portal hypertension. The consultant told him he had a year left (maximum) if he drank again but not what the prognosis would be if he didn't drink again. He swears he won't but isn't at all well and for various

Cystitis symptoms after surgery
Has anyone suffered cystitis symptoms or actual cystitis after laparoscopy? I had mine yesterday and the cystitis symptoms are getting even worse! I’m worried I might have contracted it when I had a catheter put in and out during surgery? Any advice? Thanks

Diuretics or Paracentesis
Hello, I am curious to know if anyone has experience of lowering tense (6-9ltr) ascites through diuretic and bringing it under control. And if yes, how long it took and which diuretic/dosage was used. My father is currently on Torsemide 10MG once a day only and he has tense ascites (I guess about 7ltrs

Diagnosis today which has shocked me to the core
My partner has just been diagnosed with alcohol cirrhosis of the liver at the age of 48. He’s not an alcoholic but has been drinking to excess most of his life. I’m heartbroken. He is still in hospital but as soon as he is well enough he will be able to come home. I was told he would have an expectancy

Atenolol once or twice daily ?
My cardiologists has suggested I change my 50mg Atenolol daily dose (mornings) to 25mg twice a day. I have been taking the one dose for well over 30 years for the treatment of mild hypertension but since the onset of PVCs he says taking the same dosage twice daily could help with the ectopic beats. The general opinion from my consultant is that I have benign PVC'S but 3 different halter monitors have proved inconclusive
