Going mad with itching
Hi all, Just wondered if anyone knows what triggers their itching and how they relieve it? Last few weeks my itching has become intolerable it's driving me to despair I have been to my Gp at least once a week regarding this, been prescribed all sorts of meds and creams and nothing works. I have bathed

Raising Awareness for Primary Biliary Cirrhosis
I just wanted to let you know that I feel awareness is very much needed for
PBC
. Most people have never heard of
Primary
Biliary
Cirrhosis
and as soon as they hear the word Cirrhosis they think differently of you. Oh I had no clue you were a drinker, did drug's, had many sexual partners etc.

Child-Pugh Scoring Query.
Hi All, I am concerned about the Child-Pugh scoring methodology and its application to patients with cirrhosis. This concern is probably due to my lacking a medical background, so with that in mind I am hoping someone in the know as it were could clear something up for me. Given that the scoring

50 and a man with a canoe
So I reached 50, it was a nice quiet day. I went kind of reflective for an hour, I'm calling that my 'OMG I'm 50' moment. It was short. The most concerning thing was whether now I have to hang up the PVC disco shorts, and I decided no, they should have been hung up 30 years ago so it was a bit late.

Idiopathic Cirrhosis
I was diagnosed with idiopathic cirrhosis in 2010 aged 18 and since have had a beautiful baby girl. I was wondering if anyone else has idiopathic cirrhosis and if so what is it like? I don't feel too bad day to day but then again I have never drank or smoked and the only medication I am on is for possible

Have prophalactic antibiotics on perscription, i.e one to take after intercourse (tres romantic) This has worked for the last 8 months until almost two weeks ago (a week after

Being negative about being positive
I am too cheerful, I don't struggle enough, I have it too easy, I don't suffer, I am too happy, wait until you get advanced, a bad advert for fundraising, must have an agenda..... believe me I have heard all of these and more.... I am 50 in two days time. It feels like a milestone of sorts, but only

Started this in response to comments on DustyDay thread 'blood test results'. Lots of us on here make regular visits to clinic and have blood tests taken. But not all of us see the results. Dustyday has a good thread 'Blood Test Results' sharing her story about learning the value of getting print-outs

just diagnosed with NASH
Just needed to express my feelings, I have been felling unwell for a while, I knew something was wrong, overweight, tired, reduced interest in sex, difficulty concentrating, and able to sleep for far more than 8 hours. GP tells me I have NASH, but not diabetic. The treatment is to reduce/ stop alcohol

How can I support teenage son who has cirrhosis of the liver due to AIH?
We nearly lost him recently due to this condition, but no one seems able to give us any real idea what the prognosis is for him long term. He's depressed as he's not able to attend college or have a normal teenage life due to no energy and poor concentration. He doesn't think he's going to survive this

Suntan Sea and ICU
I had come home from a wonderful 2 week holiday in Spain with my wife. I felt refreshed and relaxed ready for the working months ahead. With the aim to earn enough to pay the bills and think of where to go next year for our holiday. At least that was the plan and like most well laid plans, things
