Atenolol once or twice daily ?

My cardiologists has suggested I change my 50mg Atenolol daily dose (mornings) to 25mg twice a day. I have been taking the one dose for well over 30 years for the treatment of mild hypertension but since the onset of PVCs he says taking the same dosage twice daily could help with the ectopic beats. I am a bit apprehensive but will give it a try and see how it goes. Any of you have any knowledge or previous experience with something similar concerning this beta blocker or indeed any other ?

Yes - my cardiologist actually increased my atenolol to 100mg. Through trial and error we agreed that I take 50 mg in the morning, 25mg at lunch and 25 mg at dinner. It helped keep my adrenaline at a level that didn’t trigger as many PVCs. We are all made different and what works for some does not work for everybody. If I were you I’d give it a go - particularly there is no risk.
