Rheumatoid Meningitis Recovery
I finished my taper dose of
prednisone
and am still on Keppra to prevent seizures. I would love to hear your experiences, especially if anyone has had rheumatoid meningitis. How long was the recovery? Did you ever relapse? Thank you for welcoming me to your support group. 💗

PMR and coated Prednisolone tablets
Hallo Has anyone been able to have prescribed for them prednisolone tablets that are labelled as "enteric coated" or "gastro resistant" ? these can be taken without food, which would be a boon for me. If I don’t sleep very well, which is common, then I wake late and end up taking my preds about 10am

What happens when Adrenal Gland starts working
I am back down to, and hovering, at 6.5mg Prednisolone, over the past few days have developed a nasty niggling pain deep in the left side of my neck and shoulder. This pain is the same pain I hade when first diagnosed with PMR and is in one of the original places. My question is;- if PMR was caused

Sharp pains in head - lupus related or something else?
Hi all, I have general nerve pain in my head ever since I had concussion and whiplash seven years ago - so I'll get fibromyalgia shoulders and pains travelling up my scalp, particularly the right side. It's not that troublesome. But since I had my Covid jab three weeks ago I've had a few episodes

Palpitations
Hi all. Just had a horrible weekend , fast irregular heart rate, lasted over 1 hour . Of course it had stopped by the time I was monitored, so they didn't really have any record . Spent 2 nights in EAU wired up , lots of ecgs bloods etc. They reassured me it wasn't a heart attack . The flutters continued

The plexopathy continues
After speaking to the consultant again he is saying to maintain long term on a low dose of Prednisolone. I'm back I agony so I have to do something. The Gabapentin isn't helping in the slightest so I'm coming off it slowly. I asked if there was an alternative to the Prednisolone and he mentioned methotrexate

Pneumonia vaccination
Hi all. I have recently returned to Spain for the foreseeable future and managed to get my covid vaccination shortly after my arrival a few weeks ago. I had my flu vaccination in the UK just before we came out. I have to say that I have responded well to both vaccinations with no adverse side effects

t3 only treatment need advice
When i got hypo i figured out fast that t4 only only worsend everything. My doc added 10 t3 it was better but not optimal. She put me on 4 Grain NDT and i did well for 2 years. Then got one symptom and we played with NDT dosages lower, higher, brands and a combo with NDT plus 10 T3... I transitioned

LDN and prednisone
From what I have read, I plan to take 1.25mg of LDN at night, and 10 mg
prednisone
in the morning, slowly working the LDN up to 4.5 and the
prednisone
down as reasonably quickly as I can without a flare. Has anyone tried a similar formula?

Gastric side effect of PMR medications
Hello, I am relatively newly diagnosed with PMR, in July 2023, and just starting my tapering journey. I started on 20mg Prednisolone (now just reached 10mg), plus I take 15mg Lansoprazole and once a week 70mg Alendronic Acid. I started well, feeling great with the loss of my joint pain, but after

Surgery and aspirin: what protocol with APS?
For the past 2 months I've been following a treatment based on Methylprednisolone infusions (2.5 g) and Oral
prednisone
(of which I'm currently taking 5 mg. Per day). I have doubts if I should stop all together Aspirine and what protocol to follow for surgery when having APS.

Rheumatologist diagnosis
Hi My Rheumy says my PMR is atypical with a normal CRP . My ESR is 39 . Which she believes is normal and it’s due to my weight - 14 stone . Wants to refer me to physio, this will be excruciating . The pain already makes me feel sick and like I’m going to pass out . She did ‘query’ inflammatory arthritis

Pred and unable to sleep
Hello. I often end up on several courses of prednisolone over the autumn and winter due to chest infections. Usually needing more than one course of steroids to settle my asthma back down I struggle to sleep with pred, especially for the first 2 - 3 nights. Does anyone have suggestions for helping?

rheumatologist locum visit for prednisone refill
One of the things he mentioned was that injection of
prednisone
into the effect of joints would be better than oral
prednisone
. Considering I’m incredibly needle phobic, that would definitely not be better for my mental health!
