Stress Fracture

Has any one else had stress fractures in the foot from prednisolone.I got a sharp pain in the side of my foot about a week ago..I went to the Dr today becausethe pain is getting worse.I can't walk on it even being suppI gorted

Anyway he tells me it is probably a stress fractures because of my long term use of Prednisolone for GCA

Looks like my holiday might not happen. I guess I'm lucky it's not a hip fracture but I am getting very upset about all these things happening to me.

Me too! I hope you can go, with a supportive bandage and Norwegian walking pole, airport assistance? Where there is a will, there is a way.

What rotten timing! Has it been confirmed with an x-ray? One can get very painful feet from tendonitis such as Peroneal tendonitis.

I'm waiting to get an xray .the pain is just the same as a stress fracture I had on the other foot about 20 years ago.Its just so upsetting getting one thing after another.Ive been rehabilitating for several months from a perforated bowel.Ive just had my steroid induced cataracts operated on and stents put in for the glaucoma.im still recovering from steroid myalgia and the last heart attack.plus all the stuff that happens with reducing prednisolone. I NEED A MIRACLE .

How I sympathise Raewynne. An appointment with a physio suggested my painful foot problems could be a stress fracture and I’m due to have an X-ray the end of this month. I’m sick of it all too. Osteoporosis, TIA, Afib, GCA, it all rumbles on. I need a miracle too. It’s been one hell of an 18 months and still earlyish days with GCA. Tapering for that is going well so far but I feel I’m falling apart!

Hi BlueyYes It just seems to go on.Ive had a TIA too prior to GCA ...Temporal Arteritis. First time 2013 .Took 4 years to recover then I had a relapse2 years later.I was very upset about that.I wasn't told it could come back.

Anyway I'm still here.it will be great if they can find a medication one day that doesn't throw up all these other things. If only we could heal our autoimmune system. I find it very difficult diet wise for myself at the moment because with a Stoma because of the perforated bowel I have to eat predominantly starchy foods that can be digested.I have to be careful of getting an obstruction.Do you live in the US ?I'm in Australia.

So sorry you're having such a rough time. And while we're waiting for a miracle - how about a new treatment for PMRGCA? - just look after yourself and take it very easy. (Easier said than done, isn't it?)

Yes Thanks.Actually my phone just threw up some old photos and reminded me about breaking my ankle during my first time round with GCA.Boy was that painful.Happenned when I fell over .But this Stress fracture has happened out of the blue.I guess I'll just have to keep off it.

Wow, poor you, you really seem to have gone through a lot of illness, I think we all have times when everything goes wrong health wise. I went through a bout of illness this year and last year , hospital 3 times with various lung and bowel problems. Hope you get sorted soon. 🙏 for your miracle

Sounds like you've had a hard time too.I think I've forgotten what a normal healthy person is like. Being on my own since my husband passed away a couple of years ago hasn't helped .At least we had been able to support each other.I don't see much of my family.
