covid booster and prednisolone
just a quick question- I am on a tapering course of prednisolone and have my covid booster booked before the end of the course. Does anyone know if I can go ahead or should I postpone?

Prednisone-2 week jump and back to 1-2mg over what you were taking.
Thank you for all of your suggestions. One more question. Should I taper in 1/2mg from my temporary 8mg or can I just drop from 8mg to 5mg. I was taking 3mg which caused me to jump to 8mg because of all the pain and fatigue. I have been taking the jump of 8mg for 9 days. Should I wait until I hit

What is going on?
I am at 14 mg ( starting in 2020 at 80 mg ) of
Prednisone
. I have noticed that there are days when I wake up and my shoulders, arms and hips really hurt. I find that am not able to do much because of the pain and total exhaustion.

PMR with type 2 diabetes
I had type two diabetes before I was diagnosed with PMR and I think this is why my GP wants me to get down as quickly as possible from prednisolone as it affects my blood sugar level. For the last three months I have been going up and down because I just cannot seem to get rid of the pain. I got as

Zytiga failed, Xtandi next
MO says the active hip lesion means the Zytiga is failing, at least at that one area only but recommends Xtandi and I am now hormone resistant after 19 months on ADT plus Zytiga/
prednisone

How do you taper Prednisone pills, by crushing and weighing the powders?
I am not talking about a taper plan schedule. I mean how do you cut 1 mg from a 10 mg tablet?

Nasal flu vaccine transmission
For anyone who has children, or close contact, and is on immunosuppressants, have you been around children who have had the live flu vaccine and been ok? They gave to my sister's son at school today (against her consent as she's on methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis, so she wanted him to have the

Vit B12 update
Following on from a previous post my B12 was 190 , so deficient and have had 6 loading dose injections which has definitely helped with fatigue . I am now taking B12 sublingual supplements . I have been taking PPI , Lansoprazole ,since I starting Prednisolone 18 months ago they are known to stop absorption

I was diagnosed with PMR in March of this year.My GP prescribed Prednisolone 20mg for 3 weeks, then 15mg for 4 weeks,12.5mg for 4 weeks, then 10mg for 4 weeks, then reducing by 1mg every 4 weeks. That has worked well for me,but I've now been on 6mg for 2 weeks and am getting slight shoulder/upper arm stiffness

Split Prednisone or one dose daily?
Many with PMR seem to have extreme fatigue when tapering
prednisone
. I’m curious if anyone who was splitting their daily dose went to once per day in an attempt to help with fatigue caused by adrenals struggling. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.

Started reducing so updated profile
To keep my profile updated, I've added that having been on 15 mg prednisolone for the six weeks since being diagnosed with PMR, my doctor yesterday recommended reducing by 2.5. That felt a bit much, so I've opted for a 1.25 reduction to see how that feels, and I've found I'm noticeably (though not

Anyone else on Pred. plus Sulfasalazine?
I've noticed that others are also on Methotrexate or Leflunomide along with their daily dose of
prednisone
. My dr. tried both of those at various times but I had unwelcome side effects from each.

I had my 2nd follow up yesterday since start of zytiga,

To jab or not to jab
Hi I was diagnosed January this year. I am on Prednisolone trying to taper to come off as I hate the effects. I have had 5 Covid jabs, 4 were Pfizer and the last one was Moderna, which I am convinced started PMR. I now wonder whether to have the next one as I am coping reasonably well and do not want

GCA flare
Diagnosed April 2018 with PMR. Three months later GCA. I am currently on 3mgs prednisolone. Over the last two days have scalp pain on right side only … no jaw pain. It feels a bit like I am getting a cold sore but no cold sore showing up. Could it be a GCA flare? Thank you to everyone who replies.

Need more info on related symptoms
I’ve finished the first 6 weeks of treatment (Lupron + Abiraterone with
Prednisone
) and PSA has gone from 8.6 to .53/ testosterone less than .4. I’ve had really none of the usual side effects like hot flashes or fatigue. I start radiation of the prostate in a couple weeks.

Progress report
Oh what a fun week I have had. Those of you that followed the tooth saga will be pleased to hear I am nearly at the finishing line and had the fitting for the implant, another 2 weeks and I will have the new tooth. It wasn’t particularly pleasant but it’s done. My next exiting trip was to have a scan
