Criteria to treat CLL
Good morning, My Haematologist has again recommended I start treatment for CLL. Yet, I know that I've read on here that there are set criteria for doing so. His reasoning is that the treatment has a immune suppressive effect. I'm on 4mg prednisolone and the aim is to taper to nothing. I'm on the steroids

Prednisolone without food
Have always taken my Prednisolone at breakfast with porridge or Greek yoghurt . Refuse to take a PPI. Am due for surgery in a few weeks time and not to eat after midnight. Am only on 4.5 mg Pred at present. Will it hurt this once to take it with no food? I cant see a way around it.

Prednisolone 2.5mg Gastro-resistant tablets
Just picked up my prescription for my pred and for the first time in six years my GP has prescribed Prednisolone Gastro-resistant 2.5mg tablets instead of my normal Prednisolone 2.5mg. I presume these are the coated ones I have heard people mention in the past, but as I already take Lansoprazole 15mg

it’s now been 8 days since return from holiday. I’m marginally better but after a shower and breakfast feel fatigued and not well. I did go out for coffee today with husband for an hour and now have aches in arms and legs . I have neck pain / stiffness at times. Had a nap. I’m still on 15 mg prednisolone

Pain behind ear
Last night I started getting an intermittent shooting pain behind my right ear. It’s continued throughout today. I had a GCA diagnosis over 5 years ago along with PMR but am now down to 0.5mg. I know it’s not a normal GCA pain but I’m just a little concerned as I’ve no idea what it is. I’ve just taken

Statins and prednisolone
I have been on prednisolone for nearly two years, starting on 15 mg, now down to 6mg. Previously tapering at 0.5 mg every 6 weeks, more recently tapering at 0.5 mg at 8 week intervals. Now wondering whether to extend that interval further, after having had a bad flare. Following a recent diagnosis

Prednisolone and blood thinners
As well as having PMR I also have Atrial Fibrillation. I am currently on 6mg of prednisolone. My GP is reluctant to prescribe a DOAC blood thinner for the Afib, because he says there is a risk of gastric bleeding.I am friendly with two retired GP's who are both of the opinion that this shouldn't be an

Side effects
I do 5 mg of
prednisone
1000 mg of abiraterone and Lupron every 4 months.
Prednisone
has been very tough on me, I've gained 29 pounds weight in two months, the muscle cramps and feet twitching are unbearable. My PSA has come down from 24 in January to 0.84 last Monday.

Another Cialis Question
After some ups and downs with his liver values, he is currently taking Orgovyx, Abiraterone, and
Prednisone
. PSA and T are undetectable, and he is doing as well as can be expected. Now, my husband is in “cruise control” mode (his MO’s words).

is a return of arm shoulder pain on one side unusual.
The initial euphoria after three days of 15mgm prednisolone when the pain in both upper arms and thighs was relieved, I have found over the last week or so that the pain has gradually returned in my upper left arm. As a newbie I’m not sure if this one sided response is normal. It is the same pain as

Nasty bugs/flu after prednisolone?
Hi everyone I did another cycle in January and they had me on 20mg of prednisolone... Just wondered if it's common to get a nasty bug/infection afterwards which you can't get rid of? I've had stomach flu for over a week and it's awful (passed to me from my son's nursery - he had it first)... I asked

Alendronic Acid and Methotrexate
I've had PMR for about two years. All symptoms vanished completely as soon as I was put on Prednisolone (15mg per day), but I had a bad experience with trying to reduce, as advised by both GPs and my rheumatologist, by large cliff-edge steps--from 15mg to 12.5mg, then 10mg, all in a very few weeks.

Oral Thrush that does not go away
I am at a low dose
prednisone
of 3 mg. Have taken all sugar out of my diet. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I begin taking methotrexate which my rheumatologist has suggested but respects my decision to stay on hydroxy. Maybe take it every other day? Any advice is welcome. MrsMarigold

Update on LDN
My second hope is that I can eventually stay on a maintenance dose of LDN instead of
prednisone
. Whereas
prednisone
does the job on PMR, it suppresses the immune system and comes with negative side effects.
