Bronchiectasis
Hi Everyone, I joined the site a month or so ago and I can see that it's a good community. To be honest, I don't post that much but I thought that I would share my experience. I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis in July 2015. I had been coughing on waking and a little blood had appeared in my mucus.

Flu vaccination
I received a text today from my surgery inviting me to have the flu vaccination. I've had this vaccination each year with no problems and realise that it's safe in spite of having PMR/GCA. However, I'm due to fly to Florida later his month and wonder whether I should have this before I go or whether

Should I have a flu injection?
I am waiting for an aortic valve replacement operation. I haven't got a date yet, but it is likely to be in the new year. Apart from that I'm normally fit and well. I have never had a flu jab in the past, nor have I ever had the flu, but now I'm over 65 my doctor has offered it to me. Should I have

Flu jab and blood test
Hi all I’ve just had my flu jab and whilst sitting reading the leaflet it says that it can give positive blood readings for a few days after the flu jab... and I’m having my thyroid bloods done on Friday..... if I’d have known I would have delayed my flu jab. Does anyone know if the flu jab can affect

Flu jab? Experiences please?
Hi, I qualify now for the Flu jab. I have P AF but luckily its well under control. I'm just asking, without using a doctors appointment, what are others thoughts or experiences with it?. My thinking is, if catching flu will be in any way detrimental to the AF I should have the jab, but on the other hand

Flu jab
I've had the flu jab this year. After reading various cautionary tales and theories I thought I give it a go. Last year I caught flu in December and had a relapse with viral symptoms that lasted until April. With two children, I figured that I would get flu regardless so why not try getting vaccinated

Flu season is upon us.
http://bit.ly/2wt3K2a If you live in England and have a long term condition (e.g. lung disease) then you should be able to get a flu jab on the NHS. No need to wait for a GP appointment, some pharmacies like Boots will take walk-ins. Nx

I have done nine clinical trials over the last several years and I feel and hope that I'm helping by donating my time and whatever else they need from my, blood work, flu shots, special creams, medications and testing different medical devices. I highly recommend people to participate in a clinical

No to the free flu jab!
I enquired today about having a flu jab at my doctors. They said I do not qualify for a free flu jab. I was quite concerned about this, not for the sake of £10, but for the fact that the doctors do not think having fibromyalgia is serious enough to be in the high risk category. If any of us got full

FLU VACCINE
Hi Pregnant Ladies. It is recommended that all pregnant women should have the flu vaccine, whatever stage of pregnancy they're in. This is because there is good evidence that pregnant women have an increased risk of developing complications if they get flu, particularly from the H1N1 strain (Swine

How often do you have your asthma review? I'm confused with my medication and can't access help.
My reviews are yearly but I'm finding I'm still getting to know the foibles of my condition, how it effects me and what is a serious episode. I have tried to get a doctor's appointment this morning but as I'm not needing urgent attention I can't. I've asked for an asthma review with the nurse but I can't

Doctor appointment
Went for my lung doctor appointment a few days ago I even brought my portable oxygen so I wouldn't get to much of a lecture as I haven't been using it for months. He just encouraged me to use it when I go for my walks. He also told me to walk faster, not sure why as I am not in a hurry to go anywhere

Flu Shot
I am wondering if anyone gets the Flu shot? I was originally told not to get it as it was thought that I may have had Guilliane Barre. Since being told I have FND I wonder if I should start getting the Flu shot again?

Lung pain every time I breathe in
I am perplexed in what's been going on with me recently. 2 weeks ago I had my flu shot without any trouble. That Sunday I woke up in pain thinking it was just a "flare" of fibromyalgia. The next day I had 2 very bad asthma attacks. I messaged my doctor. They set me up with an appointment the next morning
