I am perplexed in what's been going on with me recently. 2 weeks ago I had my flu shot without any trouble. That Sunday I woke up in pain thinking it was just a "flare" of fibromyalgia. The next day I had 2 very bad asthma attacks. I messaged my doctor. They set me up with an appointment the next morning. I have pain in my lower lobes of lungs and when sleeping I often wake up with a "barking" cough. But during day my cough is dry. I'm having "flu" like symptoms. Exhaustion, pain when I breathe and a "feeling" of sickness. The doctor didn't start an antibiotic but put me on 5 days of 30 mgs a day of predisone. He asked me to start taking my mid-day inhaler. So I have and I've done my 5 days, but still there's pain in breathing and tiredness and feeling sick. I don't know what to do? any suggestions??

Lung pain every time I breathe in
I'm really sorry but I've no idea. I suggest you phone the nurse at asthma UK 0300 222 5800
for some advice, and/or go back to your doctor as you ae so worried about this.
Hi,
May point to a possible allergic reaction to the flu jab (albeit rather delayed)! The ‘barking cough’ you mention can easily strain your intercostal muscles which can make breathing painful and could well feel like a lung infection, such coughing knocks hell out of you and makes you feel shattered. As your GP prescribed Predisone (steroid) it would suggest my assumption may be correct, I take it you are taking six tablets daily? If there was an element of concern any decent GP would be sending you for a chest X-Ray.
Your nocturnal cough would suggest you have something in your bedroom may be causing asthma attacks, feather pillows are the first thing to check out. Try and relax, getting stressed out does not help either. Hope this helps.
