My Angel Story
Hey all, this is a true story that happened to me when I was 6. Has anyone had issues with Hemolytic Anemia?
I am 8 1/2 years into my CLL diagnosis and turned 65 this year, I have had some recent problems with CLL cells appearing in some masses in both my feet and left ankle, but to have a biopsy last week they gave me 4 strong doses of IVIG to support my platelets (i have ITP) as well. I am quite dismayed

COVID, Internal Bleeding/ multi organ failure and coma
Hi all, I am here out of desperation and looking for hope like everyone else. Mom was admitted to the ICU due to severe Covid infection and sever pneumonia. Her oxygen level was 90%. They put her on a ventilator with sedation. Her kidneys and liver weren’t functioning. Within a few days she was recovering

Covid-Two ambulance visits
On the 29th March, I called an ambulance to send my Dad to hospital. He’d been battling Covid for a week or so at home, but it had got progressively worse to the point he was struggling to breath. There was crackling in his chest and I noted his Sats had dropped. He battled in hospital on CPAP for

What is MPN/MDS overlap syndrome?
Hi, My diagnosis is MPN/MDS overlap syndrome but I know next nothing about it. My haematology appt. in May was cancelled. Apparently this was diagnosed after bone marrow biopsy in 2017 but not explained to me. Last November at a haematology appt. I asked what my diagnosis is and was then told the name

Anyone using yellow dock tea for anemia? If so, how much per day
Hi all, I used yellow dock tea, prepared as a decoction, for anemia years ago (non-cancer-related). It was very helpful. Have any of you used it for anemia during chemo or other cancer treatment? I couldn't find it in the Sloan Kettering database, which surprised me as it's not an uncommon herb.

Question - please, and thanks to all for your support this week! Is BMB always necessary before starting treatment?
Good news all, husband back in hands of prior oncologist at Baptist. Treating the AIHA with blood transfusions and Rituximab. Discussed if need to treatment would be Venetoclax and Gazyva - hurray! However, since my one issue with this doctor is his desire to have often BMB's, can't the blood tests

Stem cell transplant anniversary
It is now exactly 12 months almost to the minute since I watched the bag of stem cells slowly drain into the Hickman line. It's been a very eventful 12 months to say the least. Since my last post 9 months ago I had a difficult end to 2019. I was hospitalised for pneumonia in October which turned out

Steroids and Intralipid Transfusion during COVID
Hi everyone, We were due to restart our 5th fresh cycle of ICSI last week but had it cancelled for a second time due to the COVID lockdown. We got the call from our clinic to say that we couldn’t go ahead with the planned steroid or intralipid treatment for NK cells so they suggested we delay our treatment

I'm New... Just want to know I'm not alone...
2018 Dec - Took a life threatening haemorrhage from the abdomen as I lost all my blood in the process, yet I'm still weak in my arms and legs, strength wise. Whenever I see a doctor I'm always asking them "should I still be this weak?" and they say "Yes." They don't even look surprised I'm still weak

Chemo port leading to emergency. Can we remove it during severe anemia?
My mother in law is 60year old and was diagnosed with a stage1- 1inch malignant lump with h1+ in her right breast. We moved forward and had her right mastectomy done within 2weeks of detection. After one month we started chemo with docetaxel, carboplatin and trastuzumab as suggested by medical oncologist
