SULPHONYLUREA AND METFORMIN
What exactly are the differences between these two forms of medication - their action on the body, effects etc.? I had been on metformin for several years to control my type 2 diabetes. About 2 years ago the doctor asked me to switch to Dibizide M 1/2 - 0 - 1/2 and metformin (250) 0 - 1 - 0. Since taking

Advice greatly appreciated.
Nothing works anymore. My symbicort, and Spiriva. 2. Ventolin don't work anymore. I use oxygen, I see my oxygen nurse every six months, that is the only input into my Emphysema. I send for a repeat prescription monthly. I was diagnosed type2 diabetes 18 months ago, was given Metformin and that was it

PCOS trouble? Advice please!
I got diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17; I was told my hormone levels were not too much of a problem but I had an ultrasound which said I had cysts on my ovaries. On average I have four periods a year ranging from 2 to 23 days at a time. I get such horrible pains in my ovaries where it feels like they're

I Suffered from RLS for many years. A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and I was prescribed Metformin. A side effect of the Metformin was that the RLS just stopped. I just wanted to pass on this information. Thanks

I am not diabetic but was diagnosed with insulin resistance a few years ago. I was prescribed Metformin (500 mg x 3) but, before I had a chance to start it, I stumbled upon an article about Berberine and have been taking it since (500 mg x 3). My cravings are gone, and I have lost 20 kilograms rather

Peripheral Neuropathy - What a pain!
Mine started about 8 yrs ago. I thought I had bits of gravel in the bottom of my shoes. I actually took them off and shook them upside down and put my hands in them to see if I could feel anything there....of course, there was nothing! Never thought much about it, was just a mild annoyance. A couple

What "should" I be feeling like?
I've had GCA for 3 years now and my prednisolone dose is down to 5mg. I had thought that by now I would be feeling a lot closer to "normal" than I actually am. I still feel extreme exhaustion, like being completely drained of energy, not really tired. Also as if I have permanent flu. I have very bad

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Cruciferous Phytochemicals - [3] 3,3'-Diindolylmethane [DIM]
DIM (3,3'-Diindolylmethane) is thought to be the most important phytochemical found in broccoli. [1] Estrogen Metabolism. Some may think it odd to begin with estrogen. Much of the DIM literature relates to its effect on estrogen metabolism, & this is of major interest to women with hormonal cancer,
