For those on statins: adding dipyridamole might be a good idea
the drug dipyridamole can be used to block statin-induced SREBP activation and augment apoptosis in statin-insensitive PCa cells. In this study fluvastatin was used, maybe not the best option against PCA. Dipyridamole can be taken instead/with aspirin, and there is a version with aspirin in it (Aggrenox

Hello!
Good evening, everyone! I am new to this site. I have been looking for a support group either in physical or online form. Glad to be here. My battle with anxiety began at an early age from trauma. The panic attacks were random but bad when they occurred, especially as a teen. I became a mother at 20

Long-term Metformin
Hi I recently read a report (I forget where, sorry) that long term Metformin diminishes vitamin B12 supplies and there was a recommendation that B12 levels should be routinely checked at diabetes reviews. Has anyone else heard about this?

The first negative thing I have seen regarding metformin
The Atlanta Journal and Constitution this morning reprinted a NY Times article regarding metformin. I'd like to know what others here think since it seems so many are using this medication. The link is: https://epaper.ajc.com/popovers/dynamic_article_popover.aspx?guid=20f2f2aa-830c-4feb-ad2d-e0d122734aeb

Abstract 5086: Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) inhibits angiogenesis, migration and macrophage recruitment in prostatic cancer cells
I have been reading recent posts about metformin and also AMPK that has good and bad reviews. I just came across this (ALCAR) which I do not remember being discussed. http://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/79/13_Supplement/5086 (sorry, could not figure out how to make it a link. You can copy and

Activating AMPK and PCa
Hey gang, saw this paper about AMPK activation, which Metformin does, and the effect on PCa: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4480686/ But, also saw this one about IF (Intermittent fasting) and AMPK: http://siimland.com/how-to-increase-ampk-for-fat-burning-and-longevity/ BTW, safe in CA,

35 wk scan shows polyhydramnios. Has it caused any baby birth defects or problems?
Hi all, I went into the labour ward with my OH last night as the baby movements I've been experiencing have been getting less. The heartbeat was strong, but the scan showed I had a lot of fluid and she called it polyhydramnios. I was wondering if anyone else has had this and whether it's due to birth

Will Kidney function improve after gemzar/cisplatin
I hovered at creatinine of 1.1 to 1.3 during treatment but 4 weeks after treatment it is now 1.7 with egfr of 30. I am actually not very happy with my oncologist as he has not bothered to call me about the results. I saw them on the computer. Also,, went for a cystoscope at which time they did a urinalysis

Metformin.... OMG!
Has anyone been on Metformin and had hellish diahorrea and stomach cramps! I was ok on 2 tablets a day now moved up to 3 and body seems to be rejecting everything I’m eating. Then there’s the sickness and loss of appetite.... really getting me down 😞 Anyone else suffered on this? Wondering if it’s worth

Being prescribed drugs to help with fatty liver and cirrhosis
My pcp spoke with a no that specializes in liver care at my gastroenterologists office. It was suggested I start to take metformin and a statin to reduce the fat in my liver. It appeared on my last fibroscan that my liver was stiffer and I was downgraded to f3. This is supposed to be the most current

PSA dropped to 3.9 this month after rising to 4.3 from the 3.8 two months ago
After the scare last month, I added 1000mg of Metformin to the daily 2gms, doubled the daily Lipitor and Casodex. Maybe the PSA was just an outlier. Still doing IF and CBD oil. Gonna add DIM and Nattokinase this time and check again. Did a 5k race and got a great view of the Queen Mary. I came in 3rd

Could this have been happening this long without me realising?
Thinking about my current position. Five or six years ago it was winter and I went to bed with a hot water bottle because of lower back pain and when the program I was watching went off I went to top up the water bottle my partner at the time said you have a massive burn on your back that was raw red
