Success on Metformin?
Hi My first round of IVF has failed and my doctor has asked me to go on Metformin for 12 weeks. Has anyone had any success conceiving naturally on this? The side effects are proving difficult (I’m a sensitive flower sometimes) but determined to carry on taking them. Thanks xx

Complex 1 inhibitors cause aggregation of a/syn and tau.
Getting rid of inhibitors gets rid of aggregates (What Nilotinib is supposed to do). A lot of (ordinary) things are inhibitors and they are adding to the list all the time: Examples: Aspirin Tetracycline, doxycycline, etc. Oxylates (spinach) Alcohol Beta blockers Some antidepressants Metformin

Repurposing off label drugs for cancer/targeting metabolic pathways. Is anyone participating in this trial?
I expect I will get shot down in flames, but I have just read Jane McLelland’s ‘How to starve cancer’ (without starving yourself book) - she is a 15 year plus Stage IV cancer survivor. It’s very in-depth and well researched book (to my eyes anyway). There is a trial underway at the Care Clinic in Harley

Can I trust my 1st ever Endo's advice?
I had my first ever Endo appt today that left me quite overaught and teary all afternoon. My Gp had assured me that the Endo she had referred me to had an interest in Thyroid, so assumed she would be NDT friendly. No, she wasn't, and she lectured me on how bad NDT was as you can never trust NDT to be

Beneficial effects of Metformin
I have been researching the various health conditions I have and a drug commonly used in the U. S. to treat type 2 diabetes, Metformin, seems to be a potentially useful drug in the treatment of cirrhosis, portal hypertension and NAFLD (despite earlier reports contraindicating its widespread use). It

Cantabiline, Metformin, Berberine – Combine the three, go with one, or what?
I have seen an opinion that metformin and berberine should not be taken together. All three have some similar actions, so should one choose, or do the three together form a harmonious family, or is this unchartered territory?

Glicazide
Has anybody takin glicazide and found it very unhelpful? I found it lowers my blood sugars too low, so I have stopped taking it, I still take metformin and my sugars have been within normal range.

Referred to gynaecologist
I’ve been referred to a nhs gynaecologist, I really don’t know what to expect at my appointment. I am already on metformin. I take the pill to induce periods as I haven’t had a natural one for years. My main symptom is no natural period and I had cysts in my ovaries when I got diagnosed 4 years ago.

Blood sugar testing
Hi I'm type 2 diabetic and I currently manage this by taking metformin 3 times per day weight each meal. I am concerned that I never know what my blood sugar readings are and asked my gp if I could have a test kit however was told I didn't need one. Does anyone test theirs and if so what type of monitor

Metformin for insulin resistance
I have insulin resistance. I'm constantly hungry no matter what I eat. I'm overweight and on the pathway for bariatric surgery. To get the surgery I need to lose some weight mainly to demonstrate I'm committed. It's almost impossible to loose weight while feeling this hungry. I get shakey and struggle

A diabetes study recommending treatment based on clinical features published in The Lancet
